Reckon we'll go out in straight sets?

Last 4 games have a combined 32 point losing margin v Cats. We are getting beat, but its close. We have also learnt from the last game.

Recent record against Swans is pretty great, we've beaten them pretty consistently under Dimma.

2017: 9 point loss
2016: 1 point win, big loss after season was over
2015: 18 point win
2014: 11 point loss, 3 point win
2013: 47 point loss
2012: 29 point win
2011: 43 point win, 10 point loss

If you call 50% consistent?

Never play well after a spell .Will get spanked in the 1st quarter against the handbaggers and get within 17 points. Will then lead by 38 points at half time against the swans and loose by 4 points.
Your right, but I think Geelong has a really bad record also after a break.

As to this thread, if any tiger supporter doesn't have that nagging doubt somewhere in the back of their mind, their either under 20 or just deluded.
Over 30 years of suffering does this to a person. It's not that the oppo supporters want us to think like this MosquitoBrigade , it's that they want this to happen as it gives them so much joy to look down at as from being a once proud and feared club to a disrespected and irrelevant rabble.

Much of this has been our own doing over the years with sackings, supporters doing stupid things like the chicken manure and spitting and ripping up memberships.

By god we are a passionate bunch of supporters and I'm so proud (most of the time) to be part of it.

Yes our time will come and i hope and dream with the best of you that it is this year (I was irrationally sing the club song driving home last week and envisioning us winning the GF FFS), but until the siren goes next Friday night and the score board has us in front, there will be this small part of me going please don't let us go out in straight sets, pleeeeease.

So call me pessimistic or what ever you want, but I will have this nagging thought, but god I look forward to the mighty roar when we win on Friday,

SILLY BOY..

To be honest I don't think we could have asked for a better finals setup...

With exception of the Bombers, no-one in the finals will come near us in terms of crowd support at the G.. All we need to do is beat the cats then we are halfway there...

Im actually excited... bring it on!!

Sydney in a semi is scary. Reckon the last 3 losses will have little impact next friday but one loss and I reckon the players will start to feel it. But if we win next Friday, the tiger train could be unstoppable. Quite simply a wave of confidence. I reckon it's a deadset toss of a coin. Let's wait until the coin has been tossed before we analyse it any further.

Definitely, unless we beat the Cats. It's a fluke of history that the best team happens to have finished 6th. Someone in the top four is gonna go out in straight sets, and it will be whoever loses on Friday night. The winner will play in the grand final IMO.

I think Dimma has done about as well as he could of with this group, we're not exactly full of stars and have a very young small forward line, so if we were to lose in straight sets while still playing somewhere near our best I wont be that disappointed.

Having said that Geelong dont scare me at the G and we have a great record against Sydney at any ground so we're in both games up to our eyeballs.
Beat Geelong and we'd almost be flag favourites considering it would be GWS and likely Adelaide at the G.

I could care less if we go out in straight sets.
Gotta be in it to win it.
Losing to Geel and Syd is nothing to be ashamed of.
Confident we win a final this year though

Reminds me of Return of the Jedi:

C3PO: Oh, dear. His High Exaltedness, the great Jabba the Hutt, has decreed that you are to be terminated immediately.

Solo: Good, I hate long waits.

Don't know.
Our club has this weird way of confounding expectations.
But I've been loving our blitzkrieg style of play this year.
It feels like we are a real chance to cause a whole lot of damage.

I don't think we've been shit at any stage in the last six or seven years; just inconsistent and lacking scoring power - combined with a tendency to choke in big games
We came 12th in 2011, 2012 and 13th in 2016. 8, 10 and 8 wins in those years. Thats pretty shit.
Especially considering Sydney won 12, 16 and 17 wins in the same years.

In fact this is the first year under Dimma we actually finished above them. A 50% win record against them is quite excellent considering that.
Sydney have finished in wins compared to us under Dimma: + 7, + 4, + 6, +0.5, + 5, +1, + 9, -1.
And we have a 50% win rate against them in that time??? ****ing fantastic.
