Do you mean like Vardy and Clark, we've carried them for a while now but at least Daw would get out on the park. After getting rid of McIntosh and Simpson plus our luck with injuries I see Daw as a ready made back up whether played forward or ruck.

Except for three slight problems:

1. He isn't 'ready made' as he has nowhere near made it.
2. He isn't a forward.
3. He isn't a ruckman.

He isn't much of a footballer.

I don't dislike the idea of Crowley but with Scott Selwood coming and being earmarked for a run with role, I'm not sure Crowley is needed. I don't mind signing him but I think he is likely playing 2s as the preference would be Selwood I imagine.

If there was no Selwood, I'd say yes in a second as I think Geelong needs a tagger and someone with a little bit of mongrel.
Id prefer Jed Adcock. Hes only 29 and defiantly the only half decent delisted free agent available. Crowley is 35 next year.

I think others have covered the contents of the suitcase.

Not only is he a project player who seems to be a dry hole , he s nowhere near the players you have mentioned in regards to preparedness to perform.
Add off ground issues that even top level players would be encumbered by .... I see no need to bring so much complication for debatable upside. No doubt his underlying athletic talent could have produced a much better player...if he has started earlier. Within ten years there will be many a player with his genetic background but for him personally ..id say ..no

So no one is rushing to sign any DFAs doesn't seem good news for those hoping to be picked up usually clubs would have a fair idea of who they want.

I'm thinking clubs will be in no rush at all to sign any of the current DFAs, it, at always isn't a particularly strong group of players, and clubs are afforded the opportunity to pick them up after the draft, why fill your list when you might have some players you were hoping to get with a late draft pick.

Yeah you're right unless it's a specific player you want. If it's only a type of player then you might get them at the draft.

Adcock one of few I like, played his best footy in a couple years up forward, could fill that small/med sized forward role that we lack. Not sure we will look at a 30 year old though.

Except that within this alleged 'push', I actually haven't advocated once that he should sacked. I've also freely said many times that he and the club do most things very well. Plus I think he will see out his present contract at the very least.

If that is interpreted by some as an 'anti-Scott push', those posters must be even bigger morons than I'd allowed for.
It's the bit about you saying freely that CS does most things very well that rings untrue. Note you added the club as cunning cover.

I like the Adcock deal IF we have too many picks so poor we are just guessing AND we use our last pick to give Adcock a 1 year deal at low money. How can we lose then ?

He can lead the VFL for us and teach them team footy, help them win games and if we have a horror run with injuries he could be a good player to call up. And if this cost us pick 106 so be it ! I'll take the heat if any pick above Jed Adcock ends up being a player.

Very much doubt the club will look at Adcock. We're all about adding guys from 20-26yrs and we already have quality in the 30+ bracket.

I think only if talent permits, lets be honest where not going to be drafting DFAs to step into our best 22. They can earn that privilege, but other than that they fill the spots.

If Adcock poses as our best cantidate why not, we have picks next year to replace him, throw him on a one year deal then delist him if need be.

Top up players dont really need to suit our age bracket. Just play some decent consistent footy if we need them.

Getting adcock flies in the face of what the club is trying to achieve when it moved 3 champs on.

Yes in a way...... but we have signed Mackie up for two more years. We signed Enright for one more who is ...5 years older?
His age is a component of why we may not be interested...but I suspect if we could have recruited Ablett as FA for 500 a year, we would have signed on even though he is the same year as SJ. So age is a component but so is talent and role. As such on a that as a group of criteria , I suspect its a pass.
