Yep, are they ready this year.... gut feeling says no.

Maybe 2023, but if they have to wait until 2024 we might finally be starting to get better (history says we aren't really poor for more than 2 seasons), just in time to win a Derby or 2 and spoil their dreams

Ah yes, that would be delightful.

They certainly are playing very well now. I was only following the stats mind you, but it seems like Geelong could (should) have won. But fair play to them.

It is a long season. They are in fine form now, but can it be sustained? Young team and no finals experience. It will be interesting that’s for sure. I could see them in a similar situation to Brisbane of 2019, Top 4 but straight sets.

A lot to play out that’s for sure.

I'm not sure why people are surprised Freo won though. They have always done well against Geelong and their younger and faster team were always going to trouble the old boys. Longmuire has got their forward line firing and all the players buying in. Will be interesting to see how far they go and if they have enough to take it to the top teams come finals.

Yeah we are the worst by a long way at the moment. Ah well, can’t be good all the time. We’ve played finals more than anyone in the AFL era, so we’ve gotta accept some down years to get back up. Doesn’t mean I have to enjoy it though. Let’s all just move to other sports to fill the void. Plenty out there that are doing it for me the last few years. NBA, F1, shit even WAFL (Garlic munchers doing well so far) it’s more about me telling myself and others that I care less, than actually caring less though, it’s all smoke and mirrors really ☹️

I'm thinking a year short ? But have been very impressive. We are at the opposite end of the spectrum, as the draft system was designed to do.

6 years in row of bottom 6 finishes has helped Freo. I guess if we accepted that we’d get a handful of good young players. We’ve never gone more than 3 years of not playing finals. Might give that record a shake now.
I’m not 100% on the inflection this is meant to be read in, but isn’t that the system doing it’s job? Finishing low on the ladder is meant to help you eventually if you get enough access to the quality side of the draft.

I’m bullish on our chances going forward. I just hope we rebuild properly now that it’s open slather on how terrible the clubs depth is.

Man, this weekend I've watched Eagles v Tigers, Saints v Power and the local ammos playing down the road, and the ammos looked slicker than three of those AFL sides. The average full forward who's 20kg overweight and works on a farm all week is still a better set shot than Max King.
