Richmond nuffies are basically Poe's Law though.

Speaking of, if anyone has the audio of Mario from Doncaster on SEN comparing himself to Jackie Kennedy please link - can't find it anymore.

I had it saved but it seems to have been deleted off youtube now..

Just enjoy some of Gerards finest instead

Norf in the box seat to get clarko...apparently 1.6mill a season.

The sadist in me wants to see norf this burn epically.
And how does that work with a soft cap?

They'd have enough left over to employ a couple of undergrads as medical and physio and S&C staff. The kid selling beanies and scarves in the team store has to double up as runner and assistant coach on game day.

Or the AFL can give them a soft cap exemption, calling the employment and pay of Clarko as 'an assistance measure'.

And hopefully that means they knock back the PP request.

Wasn’t Norfs one of the clubs saying no to extra ‘soft cap $’ - if true giving them an exemption would be so VFL.

Great point. Norf fighting to equalize the wealth by choking the competition via Covid soft cap, then taking those sweet, sweet kick backs to land the GOAT coach outside of the cap.

Everything's coming up Millhouse

Does feel like soft cap relief would be more palatable to most people in terms of assistance.
If they do that, then big Trev needs to grow some balls and spend over ours by an equivalent amount. Dare them to do something about it.

Hell, he should ring Richmond and Collingwood first and line them up to do the same. It's bullshit that a bust-arse-broke club would use revenue from the rich clubs to spend over the soft cap to bail them out from a decade of shit decisions.

I was really hoping that the AFL would have to accept less for this TV rights deal than the last one, to force them to sort this issue of 1/3 of AFL clubs being insolvent (if not propped up by the rest of the league).

But you don't have carte blanche because it's the umpire that makes that call. If they think you were going to be high anyway, they'll pay the free. Players will still be trying to tackle legally (except for the dirty ones but they weren't stopped before anyway), it's just that the player with the ball is discouraged from trying to win a free kick by putting their head in the way.

No surprises that it's the Pies and the Bulldogs most upset by this.
