Interesting you say that as Elijah Hewitt likens himself to LDU as a player ..
When I posted that, LDU grabbed the ball from the bounce, broke a tackle, streamed forward and took a shot on goal. I haven't seen many players do that since Judd's first couple of seasons. Only difference is LDU didn't nail the goal. And Judd did it against 3x premiers Brisbane.

I haven't see enough of Hewett to know if he has that in his kit bag.

Perhaps some sort of bounce robot or drone that could whip in, bounce it then take off?
In all seriousness, how cool would it be if a drone buzzed around and then dropped the ball to the field from a great height? AFLX missed a trick there.

They aren't now ? As others have said, rules are being made for problems that didn't exist. No wonder the umpiring is rubbish, they have too many factors to interrupt.
The reason the third man up rule was abolished was rucks were getting injured by the third man jumping knee first into the unprotected back of opposition rucks .

Back in the old days they didn't have problems because players didn't interfere with ruck contests the 2 big boys just went at it .

Then hawks started doing it when they were at a ruck disadvantage during their reign with a midfielder usually Lewis going third man up on occasions .

Then Geelong just pissed all over it using 2 rucks vs 1 with blizcavs and Stanley.

That is why the rule was bought in to stop people rorting the system and injuring rucks

The nomination thing is just for umpire and player clarity.

Team finds way to majorly benefit themselves, AFL brings in rule to stop it.
Only sporting organisation that pulls shit like that

Opening of that clip Collingwood had 2 men go up for the centre square tap Vs Melbourne's 1 ruck

Also worth watching for Tarrant's screamer

I agree with Schoey here love a bit of passion in a Derby.

Don’t mind that, bit of spice is good, but imagine thinking the club in SA with a sense of entitlement is the Adelaide Crows.

The entire North board looks like a nervous wreck over Clarkson.

While I hope he chooses them over the dopers, part of me would find it hilarious to see them spurned again.

Or he becomes Matlhouse-Carlton v2.

I don't mind North, but that would be pretty funny.

I love the bounce and would support having a specialist non-umpire bouncer who just does that and then leaves the field until the next time they're needed.
Imagine the pressure on the poor guy. Especially if he gets an early one wrong.

You've got one little job to do...
