Daniher is having a shocker. Defensive efforts are non-existent and making dumb decisions.

He has always been a frontrunner and very lazy.
So much talent, yet so little application.

In the last 4 seasons (including this one) we have had perennial pretenders Geelong and Brisbane clogging up the top 4. Often there is only 1 win between second and 5th and only % between 4th and 5th. Getting an easier fixture can easily make the difference between a flag and a second round exit. Tonight's game is an extreme example - winner can take 2nd and loser almost certainly gets 5th.

The League really needs to fix the fixture and the double ups to preserve some integrity to the ladder. It should move to two phases:

1. Play each team once in the first 18 rounds. Alternate home and away from one year to the next.
2. Create a set order for the remaining 7 rounds, so each team consistently doubles up against the remaining teams home/away in a predictable manner

This means there is only one guaranteed rivalry round each year. So be it. We don't need to guaranteed derbies/showdowns each year.

Pretty telling that when I heard a Melbourne player was in tears and it wasn’t an injury, my first instinct was “I bet Zorko, the captain of Brisbane, has said something unforgivable”.

A ****ing germ, has been for years, phenomenal that it’s now becoming a widely accepted fact.

Neale, Oliver, Petracca all close to BOG. All 3 in the mix for Chaz. Will be interesting if Chaz comes down to the last round and any of these players are still in the mix.

weak side of front runners poorly coached. its between Cats and Melbourne - but finals throw up oddities.
I just dont see other teams having the consistency, depth, physicality and the required defensive mentality. Swans on the day a dark horse.

If Sydney get over the top of Melbourne in week 1 and Geelong win then Dees and Cats will meet in a prelim again

Or if Melbourne win but Geelong do their traditional week 1 choke then same thing

For it to be a Melbourne v Geelong GF they both have to win first week

Whatever. Melbourne have their own share of grubs.
Viney, Harmes and May who badmouths his own team mates.
Every team would have their own share of grubs but Zorko would have to be the league leader by a fair margin.

Lions premiership window looking nearly shut now. This mob are mentally fragile and have squandered 4 years of chances.

2019 16-6 Finish 2nd and get bounced from finals in straight sets.

2020 14-3 Finish 2nd, playing at home all year, lose a home prelim to Geelong with a home GF at stake.

2021 15-7 Finish 4th, bounced out in straight sets again after a Gabba defeat to Dogs.

2022 15-7 most likely 6th and playing a elimination final at home against Tigers after coughing up top 4 at home and based on current form I’d put my money on Tigers to knock them out at home….again.

For all the shit about our list bottoming out at least we can say we reached the top of the mountain twice in 15 & 18 and walked away with the chocolates in 2018. I’d pull my hair out if I supported this lot.
