Was 22, sitting behind the goals a level above the cheersquad. Great say, remember it like yesterday. Got there early and watched the u18 GF, did a walk around the ground. Great battle on the field. The after party. Was epic

Yes it is annoying that it is 20 years since our last flag, but let's leave that aside and have one positive thread.

Who was there?
What are your favourite memories?
What was your favourite play?
What have you enjoyed most about watching the players relive it?

Behind the goals about 30 rows back... Didn't believe until the Dew goal - that was the first time I really thought "they can't catch us now..." = Favourite play - Pickett running through centre (straight towards the goals I was behind..) looking over his shoulder and going "Nah - you can't catch me" and putting on the afterburners..

Standing room southern stand, jumping around before the game in a bunch of Ports supporters "How good is it we're here" which poured into half time

"We're in this" which slowly rolls into euphoria replacing the disbelief.

Not sure why but "Josh - Don't Nick out on us" banner one of my clearest memories on the day, probably because I had Carr in our top 5 most important at the time.

Heads up everyone - Channel 7 is replaying the 2004 GF in the wee hours of the morning.

Yeah I know - we've all got it on DVD and our hard drives but there's something special about watching it on the TV like the old days isn't there?

Not sure about you all but watching that ONE AFL grand final victory for our club always gets an airing in the Festy living room when it gets played on FTA - just like the Shawshank Redemption. Must of watched them both more than two dozen times.

Maybe because it reminds me of the time when the hair on my head and elsewhere was full and dark and things were looking up.

I’ll watched it again but man it’s been a spell between drinks. Fück.

I watched it before the game yesterday and couldn’t help look at the similarities between them and the players now….. not all, but some.
These below stood out for me

Carr/Farell
Peter Burgoyne/son
Shaun Burgoyne/JHF
Rioli/Pickett
Gavin/Rozee

Also showed me that we are not that far off a premiership….

I was listening to him live on the day on radio, cause I was too nervous to watch it. I actually thought KG called it really well.

I remember listening to the MMM call with Timmy G and others (that I cant remember) It was awesome... You could hear the emotion in Timmy's voice as he called the last few minutes...
