Nup. **** that. We have to avoid the Crows, if we can.

They match up well against us, they play a style of football we have proven we cant handle and they have the mental edge over us.

And the only way to get over that mental edge is to beat them. And the only way to beat them is to, well, play them.

Lets not put the cart before the horse. It is great that we have made the finals, but I think we will be lucky to make a prelim. I'd rather wait and see rather than looking at permutations, as that's when one gets more disappointed. Week by week is better.

I would rather play WC than Adelaide.

We had the upper hand on them for a long time, we can get that back. Bring them on, i would love to play them in the finals.

I don't think anyone is talking Prelims just yet, but it does look like we will finish either third or second and a double chance.

So a Prelim isn't a long shot.

I highly doubt we'll finish 2nd.

I reckon we'll finish 4th.

top 4 i reckon will be:

1. cats
2. eagles
3. hawks
4. power

that's what my brain says, of course my heart is in it for power to finish 2nd and believe we can do it. can't wait for toorrow's match against geelong

Although its unlikely to happen, if Hawks or Roos drop a game, and if we lose both our remaing games, it could come down to the Collingwood V Adelaide game as to whether we finish in the top 4.

Would be an intersting dilema if it came down to this. Who would you want to win? If Collingwood win, they boot Adelaide out of the 8 but knock us out of the top 4. But if Adelaide win, they sneak into the 8 and we would finish top 4.

do you really think hawks can beat the swans at the SCG, with sydney needing to win to play finals??

Fortunately the timing of the games avoids such an unholy supporting dilemma for us. And if St Kilda do the right thing, Freo will be formally out of finals contention before we play them.

^i just lookd on the afl website. my bad, i thought hawks were on equal points with us, and therefore would pinch 3rd by percentage.

having said that, i think just about all of us are assuming we will beat freo. let's hopr we're not caught out with that. that game literally is must-win for top 4

yep if we happen to lose to freo & the other results go against us - Hawthorn, kangaroos (would need a big win again) & west coast win then we could finish as low as 5th.

There are 2 sides that can take our spot in the top 4 if we lose to Freo; North and Collingwood and they both have quite a bit of percentage to make up. For example, if we lose by 50 points and North and the Pies each win by 50 points then we are still in the top four.

Our percentage is 2197/1953 = 112.493599%

West Coast have had 1811 pts kicked against them so to have the same pecentage as us they need a for total of 2037.26 and they have 2030. So we have an 8pt advantage.

Win by 8 points more than WC beat Ess by, then we are 2nd.

Win by 1 to 7 points as WCE or the same margin, then we are probably higher than them but it depends on the margin, ie a WCE 10 pt win vs a 65pt win.

Win by upto 4 points less than their margin, and once again we could still be above them. Might have to go to the 6th decimal place.

Lose and Hawthorn win, WCE win, and we go to fourth.

Lose and WC lose and Hawks win and we could still finish 3rd, Hawks go to 2nd, WCE to 4th, depending on the margins both Port and WCE lose by. Highly unlikely.

Least likely, but still possible is we lose, WCE win, or lose by less than us, Hawks win and then on Sunday arvo Kanga's pump Bulldogs who's season is over and make up 6%.

Given that both Port and Kanga's have approx 1900 points kicked against them, about a 115 pt net turn around would see us drop to 5th. Ie Kanga's win by 85pts we lose by 30pts.

Collingwood on a 102% and 1898 pts against need to make up a net 190 pts turnaround. Can't see that happening.

Personally I think you guys would be happy finishing either 2nd or 3rd and play West Coast because you've certainly taken it up to us in recent times. I don't think it would matter whether it was home or away, except maybe for your supporters! You guys are definitely in a good spot and looking dangerous for the finals! Best of luck!
