Autopsy Review 2022 R4, v. Melbourne (The most sackable game in AFL history?)

Did he really say we need to work harder in the presser? The players must be sick and tired of that - to their credit many of them did work harder last night, which stemmed the loss somewhat.

The issue isn't the players. Blind Freddy can see that. The issue starts with our Board, which doesn't care about our on field performance. We need our Club back.

Surely one of you has a spare $14m???

You know what's screwed up? I thought I was actually being a bit harsh on Rozee and a bit hyperbolic at times with my criticism of him, but he's actually way worse than I was even saying he was. It's almost sad at this point.
He's been absolutely awful. Can't win a one on one contest. Goes to ground every time. Has no intent on trying to win one. He's become as big a fraud as Ken is and that is scary.

Yeah. I very rarely pot individual players, and he’s not alone at present, but yikes.

If his name was Garrick Johansson he’d be playing for PHOS Camden next year.

And this is why Ken will keep his job when we have supporters like this:

It's a shame that Melbourne didn't bury us in the 4th quarter.

Bergman good
Jones I think will make it
Drew did ok

Rozee is somehow now worse than Ned McHenry
Butters massively gone downhill
Mitch looks confused
Marshall is Marshall

The youf aye

Where have you been, haven't seen you on here for a while?
Just been thoroughly disinterested. Hard to maintain enthusiasm when I don't have any faith in the coach & haven't since half way thru 2015. But we are getting closer to freedom so I'm more interested in reading other supporters viewpoints again.

Yep, I feel the same it's like banging your head against a brick wall.

That was some of the most cowardly footy I've ever seen.

Not talking about effort, I'm talking about intent. Coz we had no intention of trying to win that game. Jonas should've just run out on the ground waving a white flag.

We were pretty much running down the clock from the first bounce, ffs. Didn't even try to take the game on. Just tried to mitigate the damage. Worked for about a quarter and a bit. But the dam was always gonna burst farken. Nek minnit we're down by seven goals.

The only interest I had after that was to see if we'd go goalless. Then it was to see if we'd beat North's score in the '89 grand final. Looked pretty iffy at 3/4 time.

The only thing saving us from a 15 goal shellacking and worse was that Melbourne never got out of first gear in that glorified training run.

Our players are legit scared to go forward. That's not their fault. They obvs have no faith in the gameplan or forward set-up.

2nd best 0-4 Port team of all time - '08 would shit all over these guys, tho...

My match summation:
The first two and a half quarters - goalless
From halfway through the 2nd quarter to halfway through the 4th quarter - Melbourne had as much pressure on them as a 80 year olds prostate provides
Last half of the 4th - junktime that Ken is hanging his hat on

Pure delusion but we know Koch will gobble this bs up!

We only lost by 5 goals but anybody watching that game knew it felt more like a 10 goal loss. Up until the seal was finally broken near the end of the 3rd quarter we couldn't buy a goal all night. Melbourne appeared happy to cruise through the last half, but if we were playing a team like Geelong they wouldn't have taken their foot off the gas.

When Farrell is ready he should be in an instant in for McEntee. Like Houston he's a player that has the ability to kick goals from outside 50 with great accuracy, which is something a player like McEntee lacks. We desperately need more forward options!

Thought Bergman played well.
Lycett was pish around the ground. Some terrible efforts even prior to his injury
Boak finished the game strong. Felt sorry for him
Still so many dumb kicks into our F50. Why bomb it or kick it to Gawn.
Bit worried Houston will get a week

why cant this coaching group come up with a plan for our forwards

surely without dixon it should be a short hit up game and when your near the 50 have a shot

but no we just hack it forward to the unmarked opponent.

and this continues for the whole game, no change, they knew dixon was out and rather than try a new forward plan they just stuck with the same.

they toyed with us, we genuinely looked like a bottom 4 side trying not to lose by too much.

how depressing

Word is Hayes can't grasp the game plan... if this is why he is not playing, we are screwed from Hinkley to Lokan...
How hard is it to learn bomb it long down to Dixon?
Maybe he just asked the logical follow up question of what do we do when Charlie isn't there?
It's not like there is more to the game plan than that
