Autopsy Review: Collingwood v Melbourne (37 pt loss) - That was D-Day

Inside 50's was 54 to 41 in our favour yet we lost convincingly.
Until we can find another forward or 2 who can provide something resembling a forward line then we will generally fail.

On top of this our overall skill level is that of a bottom 4 team so we need to find a way to fix this.

Really about where I thought we would be this time of year.

So many of those inside 50's were just dumb bombs to a Melbourne player though. How is this happening every single week?

Our list is overrated by our fans

Our senior coach is one of the worst in the AFL

Long long way to go.
On what metrics are you judging Bucks? I don't believe he was hired to beat Melbourne. His goal is too take us to a premiership. Given that, I would say he is tracking well - hard to say yet though. As you say, a long way to go...

Yep, time to start pumping more games into the kids now (as well as Reid to see if he can handle it) - nothing left to play for now in 2015, not that I ever really thought there would be at the start of the year (we've shown some positive signs at different points, but I'm not sure we'll ever be able to sustain the pressure-oriented turnover focused game plan they're trying to instil - especially with our deplorable disposal skills by foot).

Disappointing doesn't even describe today, but I think we all suspected something like this might be coming with our form basically falling off a cliff after running both Freo and Hawthorn close.

there are no more kids left apart from goodyear. they are all in the side.

Out coached. No structure. Absolute Panic in the last 30mins. Stupid little useless hand balls. No path into the forward line. They did not even try to run it into the forward line. I do not expect us to win another game this year.....no on our own steam.

So many shit players can't kee holding them up our defense was horrible Maynard not afl standard Toovey should be dropped Langdon didn't even look interested and slow and frost always 3 steps behind not to only name them cause there was many others

Find it interesting our new recruits are our best players/decision makers - Varcoe and Greenwood were good today, and Crisp seems to have dropped off a bit but still been pretty good. Maybe it's because Buckley hasn't had his influence on them just yet...

No forward structure for at least 3-4 seasons really, and having cloke out, and Elliot playing off a back flank, leaving Moore as the other tall just didn't work. Grundy/white no good floating forward.

My positives are varcoe, what a beast. Scharenberg looked ok, and should keep his place and get better. Swan willed himself into it in the third and got us back thereabouts. Moore will be a player. Competes well, looks like he can run all day. Finals are non existent, but get some games into the kids and we will be ok for next year.

1. Problems began at the selection table. Leaving White out was a mistake. He's no champion, but asking Fasolo and Moore to be out keys was an error. Bringing back Seedsman was a mistake.
2. We're obviously tired after the last six weeks. Played like it. That's to be expected with so many young players. They're going to be up and down.
3. Bucks has been playing too many inexperienced players who are up and down. I'd stick with De Goey, but Dwyer should have been playing the last month to give some consistency - he doesn't panic.

Well, only a slim chance for finals now. Still, Bucks needs to play best 22, because just pumping games into the kids might get even uglier.

We are tracking well towards a premiership are we... now I've heard it all.

Melbourne are closer to a premiership than us. So are the bulldogs. So are GWS. So are Port

Shit I could go on for most of the competition

People saying its not Buckleys fault need to waje up.....Unfortunately in life some people can be successful in some areas and others try and fail. Bucks has given it a go, like Voss, champion player doesn't mean a great coach. Buckley should be assessing hus future tonight and whether he believes he is the coach for this footy club, as alot in the media this week, and myself do not think he is. His sude was smashed by a team who has lost to Essendon and St Kilda in the past 3 weeks. Arrogance to not play Reid this week, and start Elliott as the sub, in a undermanned forward line and look what happened. Seriously hope Reid kicks a bag tomorrow and plays all 4 quarters.

Did you see Reid in the VFL last week? Did okay, but barely moved out of the goal square. When he did move out from the square he looked pretty uncertain, at times clueless. Hardly arrogance not to play Reid.

Why do Melbourne consistently beat us in the center clearances? Every time I go to a pies vs Melbourne game it feels like they slaughter us there.
