He was named the coach of the league's Team of the Year after leading Box Hill to second place in the home and away season in 2017. Newman lead Box Hill to the 2018 VFL premiership. Hawthorn assistant under Clarko. Not saying I want him but not all to bad.

Club appears to be playing safe for two years minimum I believe by giving mini the reigns. We have a terrible list and mini gets a crack to show his wares with no decent picks.
He then gets the boot if he doesn’t improve the list or come up with anything new. Hopefully by then new decent candidates rise from the abyss and we end up getting him. Benny and Balme are looking long term as they know we’re in a mess for two years minimum bc of the TT and JH trades as well as ageing list and lack of young A grade talent coming through. Our list is a basket case and people are on lala land if they think otherwise.

Just to be clear, our list isn't in a mess because of the Taranto/Hopper trades. It's actually stronger because of those moves.

It's our current drafting position that is in a mess because of it. But we knew that when we traded a future 1st rounder. It's not some sudden realisation - that was the cost, and we were prepared to pay it.

I don’t think it’s quite as simple as that. I read somewhere that he and his missus have young children and she was happy to be back in SA and didn’t want to move again. Which is fair enough especially if he has been promised the PA job after Kenny goes.

Your defintion of a list crisis is missing out on a single draft pick this year. On one hand we haven't performed on the field as expected but TT in particular, can play. JH didn't work this year and so ageing Prestia and Cotch at least were uninjured but exposed for pace. We have got Bolton playing very good football.
No " A grade talent" been drafted? Unless they are big body mids like jack Ross it's too Early . We did go hard for Horne Francis. Gibcus is talent Clarke Coulthard? Who knows. Sonsie was looking the goods late last year. Ryan got thrown into it and played really well. Enough to consider trading out soldo. Cumberland will be a player.
Young stepped right up and, as usual we find players outside the main draft.
We have a strange drafting formula that's left JVR behind and a few young mids. Hobbs and Ward.
Injury to Lynch and aging Jack highlight the list gap. I'd play gibcus KPF with Lynch. That doesn't work free agent in the king twins over the next few years.
JG and Kmac getting games over the kids ? Mini just sticking with the players who know the gameplan.
I watch local footy and teams set up AFL style. No direct opponent often, just occupy space on the field.
Is what Richmond do that much more complicated?
Mini has not rung the changes.. I guess a win today and vs Port and we could make finals. So he has every right to Go for that

The club has to revamp the whole footballing department. Which it has been complacent with for a while. We’ve short changed our fitness, recruiting and other divisions. Complacency has lurked at Punt Road. Instead of ruthlessness.

We haven't short changed any of our staff or football divisions. That was straight up on the AFL reducing the soft cap during COVID and they still haven't brought it back to pre pandemic levels. So you have a choice. We chose to keep more coaches. With Dimma gone we should be getting cheaper coaches so we can spend more on other divisions.
