Geez, that's a good effort. I wouldn't pay much attention to where they were ranked in Phantoms, but that's pretty much the top midfield prospect and the top key defender prospect. An unusually good draft from Richmond :D

Stoked with who we got with the 3 picks. Now the most important part getting them to play to their potential. Picking up Putt at 51 hopefull means we are not going to bother with Richards in the PSD and may look at one of the kids overlooked today or Collard/Pfeiffer instead.

Also Neville and Sylvester are still avaliable.....maybe we can Rookie them with Geartner and bellchambers.....

i'd like Pfieffer in the PSD aswell.

Whats even more unusual is a Carlton fan actually saying something honest for once :D

and...

gourdis gaertner bellchambers were overlooked in the draft.

whcih means we cood rookie draft and psd 1 or 2 of them.. best draft ever

In theory...

However we only have one PSD available, unless we can still delist players in which we should delist Moore because we got Rance.

Besides I still think we will take Guy Richards at pick 1. Then by the time the rookie draft comes around, most teams would have already used there PSD picks on Bellchambers, gourdis, etc.

Best possible outcome would be if we take Bellchambers at PSD #1 knowing that we have Simmonds, Pattison, Graham and Putt on our list.

Great day for the tiges, finally we can believe Miller when he claims "we didn't expect him (Rance) to last that long,we are rapt"

Rance slipped because he is slow. Its that simple.

Being Slow and playing FB as pretty much ur only positions, means big trouble IMO.

Oh how wrong u are! Rance is very deceptivley quick, has great rebounding ability from defensive 50. Rance will play FB and CHB and be a very good player.

all of a sudden a future backline for the tiges looks pretty good with Thirsty Rance and even McGuane who is coming along nicely.

throw in Bowden (2xAA Defender), Polak, King etc etc
When it settles and the players get to know eachother it will be very solid!

I'd be a bit surprised (and disappointed) if we took Richards now. Simmonds, Pattison, Graham and Putt as genuine ruck options with the possibility of picking up another long term ruckman in Bellchambers if we want to. Surely 4 ruckmen on a list of 38 is enough, and if you're going to go for more than that then surely you don't need another mid-twenties underachiever type over a kid who was rated as a 2nd round chance and has 12-13 years ahead of him (Bellchambers).
Gaertner is too young to be rookied, so we'd need to take him in the PSD if at all. I think we have an "embarrasment of riches" (relatively)to take at PSD 1 and Rookie 1. Gourdis, Bellchambers, Gaertner, Petrenko, Pfeiffer, Al Neville etc. Not Richards now. Please not Richards.

3.1ish for 20m. Hmmmmmmm

Just saw some highlights on Cotchin. Kevin Sheahan said his kicking as not just good but extremely rare.

Our recruiter Derek Hine said he'd have taken him at 1.

Looks a gun.
