Anyone got any funny tales of your kids (or someone elses) that follow the tigers...

My young fella is 5, and has a funny quirk when singing the club song:

Oh we're from Tigerland,
A fighting fury,
We're from Tigerland,
In any weather you will see us with a grin,
Risking HAIRY CHINS.......

Cant help piss myself laughing everytime!

WHile we are on that subject, why does our theme song at the ground always say 'risking head and skin' when the proper words are 'risking head and shin'? It bothers me greatly.
RFC_Official can you shed any light on this?

Well, most of his awareness of football has been in a hirsute era.

My 6 year old loves all thing RFC (my brainwashing has worked), but also anything AFL. So he's mucking around on google looking up historical grand final results when he stops, puzzled, and looks at me:

"Dad who's F-I-T-Z-R-O-Y?" Was sad in a way. Then he discovered South Melbourne, again a little sad but less so. The innocence of asking about Fitzroy was quite priceless.

Smacka Fitzgibbon one has the right words.

I was sitting with mostly crows fans, but there was one tiger kid (about 3 years old) few rows down who turned around to cheer in the crows supporters faces for every goal. They didn't look happy but couldn't do shit about it. :)

Thanks Smash. But we need to correct version all the time. It's one of those things that eats at me at games. It really bothers me. Our song is sacrosanct.

When my wife was 3 months pregnant with our first (daughter, not known at the time) the first 'Tiger Cubs' membership arrived at our door on a Saturday morning. However, when I rang up and ordered the membership I said 'I'd like to order a Tigers Cubs membership please', they responded with, 'Sure, childs name?' I said, 'I dont know'. They said, 'What do you mean?'. I said, 'The kids not out yet, not due for another six months!!!'....we both laughed!!! So they sent out the membership that read 'Baby Tiger - DOB: TBA'.

My daughter is now 7, has been coming to the footy since she was around 2 years old. It was hard work lugging her along with nappy changes and food etc and barely registering a win in that TW era. So I had to promise her that I would get her chips, and cheezles etc....one day probably when she was three years old or something I said to her, 'Sweetheart, whats your favourite part about going to the footy?' Her response was 'Daddy, I like the Cheezles!'

My son is 4 and his favourite thing to do when the siren goes if we win and we are at home is to run up and down the hallway singing the song. Little bugger just runs like mad up and down the house....absolutely hilarious. I think he gets bored at the actual games. From the moment the first bounce goes he keeps asking 'Daddy, how many matches left?' But he actually mean 'quarters'. 4 quarters left son. At half time, 2 more to go son, then we can go to the footy shop and buy some badges etc....

I also have another 10 month old son that seems to have quite good skills on both sides of the body. We play alot of footy and other ball games around him, so I think he is developing a lot quicker than the other two....anyway, back to nappy changes at the footy for me with three in toe these days!

I hope we keep winning. It makes it easier to convert these little buggers than when we are getting wacked each week and keep having to tell them, that they are young and developing etc....its something that is actually quite hard to explain to kids under 4 or 5 years old.
