You could make an argument that Richmond would be in a dominant position without this umpiring.

You could, alternatively, argue that much of their ascendency was derived from the spate of horrendous decisions, starting with the non-call on Soldo’s HTB which let Rioli kick the goal before quarter time.

One thing you can’t argue, though, is that this is, at all, acceptable. The AFL tries to position themselves as a professional sporting organisation, not unlike the NFL or the NBA. But you don’t see this absolute rubbish served up during round X of their games, let alone in the SuperBowl / Finals.

This Grand Final is so ****ing bad that I'm actually looking forward to trade week starting.

**** me I ****ing hate trade week.

Players like Whitfield and Kelly look great when they are carving teams up in the middle of winter when the pressure is off, but they look useless against Richmond’s pressure. You just have to have a better contested game to make a difference in games like these.

If you mind me asking, what exactly is the problem with criticising the umpiring? It's probably overdone sure, but a blanket ban of it on a football forum seems a bit over the top.

It's only 6 goals, just need GWS to kick 8 or 9 in the third while restricting Tigers to 3 or so and we'll have a game on our hands! Woohoo.

Probably didn't want 90% of posts to be about umpires. Which I guess is fair enough.
