Can't really argue with any of what you said other than to say that I
never said that what the Hawks have achieved is not admirable in fact it is quite admirable that they were as dominant as they were for such a long period of time.

It all gets down to the fact that OP stated that since the Hawks have been in the league they have more flags than Richmond which is true, my point was the OP should have focused on more than one stat if they were going to make a thread with 'All the Stats' in the title.

Dude, we can't argue with those facts, but this thread wasn't about that. It was about the 83 years since hawthorn joined the league, not the period of time since richmond have become crap

The THREAD has EVOLVED (thank christ).

I have read the WHOLE thing and am numbed by the experience.

I think all stats should be weighted with most recent being most relevent. I've also included parameters that allow the deviation in numbers due to differing number of competing teams to be included.

I've gone through this process of mathematical correcting, modelling and retrospective projection and here are the results:

Hawthorn's 9 premierships are equivalent to 14 weighted premierships.
Richmond's 10 premierships - with weighted calculations are really only worth 7.
You see - our premierships are much more recent, and therefore worth much more than the Richmond ones. We've effectively won twice as many premierships.


Brownlows:
Hawks - 8 (should include Dunstall 1992, he was robbed.)
Richmond - 6
Crawford's brownlow is worth 3 of Ian Stewert's, because the game is a lot faster and demands a lot more from players now.

Spoons;
Richmond - 112
Hawthorn - 7.

Richmond's recent spoons have caused a severe skewing of results. It's been a looooooooooong time since Hawthorn have 'won' a spoon. So that's where those figures come from.

Cold hard facts. They can deny as much as they like, but you cannot argue successfully against maths.
