There would be a lot of top draft picks. Though that means nothing as Gibbs turned out to be a dud and Westhoff turned out to be one of the best in the draft. There would be a lot of coach sackings in that time.

Correct Hawthorn has had the better of Richmond in one statistical onfield area in the time that both clubs have been in the competition but, what is the title of the thread you created? I believe it is titled: Richmond vs Hawthorn - all the stats notice the last 3 words of your title.

So when given all the stats, which show that Richmond has it over the Hawks, their fans come up with 'oh but we we're crap for the first 35 years so it is unfair to count those years because it makes us look bad'.

Well 2 can play at that game, lets discount Richmonds stats since 1982 the period they have been crap. That would make it
Premierships:
Richmond 9
Hawthorn 4
bugger me we have over double the Premierships you clowns had.

Spoons:
Richmond 1
Hawks 11
Not sure if I should continue with this it is starting to look really bad

So next time you're going to start a thread claiming to cover all the stats you may actually want to cover all the stats and not just select ones that suit your claim otherwise you come out looking rather stupid.

Oh and to answer your questions:
Richmond last and 6th spoon was this year
Hawthorns last and 11th spoon was in 1965
Even though it has been over 40 years since your last the fact still remains the same, 11>6.

Gibbs is already a dud is he, no questions asked? In the rising star this year, gibbs came 7th, westhoff came 4th. Three spots difference in their first year and suddenly one of them has turned out to be a dud, and the other has turned out to be one of the best in the draft????? I wonder if had Gibbs had been drafted with pick 80 and Westhoff with pick 1 you would judge Gibbs so harshly and Westhoff so kindly. And also, just wondering, do you really believe they have already turned out to be the player they are going to be for the rest of their careers, after one season..???

Yes I do believe that Gibbs is a dud and will always be a dud. I however believe that Westhoff will become a player that one day could kick 60/70 goals in a season-maybe even more.

If Westhoff was number 1, I would say good draft choice. If Gibbs was 80 I would still say crap draft choice.

And, given Hawthorn had only 11 rivals for all their spoons, whereas you outdid 15 other teams to 'win' you spoon this season, that should count for 5.

Mmmkay, so if a pick 80 played 22 games in his debut season and was judged the 7th best young player that year, which means he beat at least 73 of the draftees picked ahead of him, he would still be a crap choice.
And thats fine if you believe that gibbs will be a dud and westhoff a gun, but they have not turned out that way as yet, which is what you said in your previous post.

There isnt much to brag about being more successful than the Tigers. They have been sh*t for over a quarter of a century whilst the Hawks had their golden period around that time. Tigers look like they will be down at the bottom half of the table for a few more years whilst the Hhawks have promising times ahead, as long as *injunction* doesnt bring them to their knees. Bragging about success over the Tigers is like a man bragging about being stronger than a boy. It is pathetic. Hawthorn have been sh*t for a while now too so I guess they have to hang their hats on something.

That thread was talking about a clubs ability to say they are a 'Big 4' club.

I suggested a side that had just won the spoon and has had 25 years wallowing in the lower half of the ladder was not 'Big 4' material.

This thread is about 2 clubs and thier records over 83 seasons. My POV is that Premierships are all I care about. Spoons have no bearing on a sides tradability - especially when we haven't won one in 42 years.

Next time, read the context in which things are written. This may go some way to ensuring you don't make a dill of yourself in the future.
