Yep, back in our flag years we had guys like Riewoldt, Cotchin, Grigg, Astbury, Houli etc etc.

Some more talented than others but they were all smart. Footy IQ is just as important as physical traits imo

Even if we come back to lose by less, I don’t want Yze saying anything like “can’t fault the effort” in the press conference. Our senior players are getting way too comfortable with crap disposals that put teammates under pressure and half-assed efforts. You can excuse the kids, but not literal Premiership players.

He doesn’t have to rip them to shreds. I don’t even want that. He can even cover the blame and say something like “our effort is not where it should be and we’ll work to rectify it”. Just don’t speak like it’s not a problem at all because it is.
