Terrific performance by Nathan Brown today.

Surely Riewoldt has to perform in next weeks replay. He's played two poor grand finals now and again missed critical shots on goal.

Hayes and Goddard stamped themselves as incredible leaders. Time for Riewoldt to do the same or his standing in the game will suffer.

Solid, yes. He worked hard as he always does.

But he wasn't one of St Kilda's best 6 and Collingwood would take that every day of the week. And he missed crucial goals.

He's their best player and his impact was not substantial. Brown did a huge job. Can he hold him two weeks in a row? I reckon Riewoldt's too good to have 3 disappointing grand final performances.

If he didn't take the mark at the end that set up the play that kicked the point that drew the game, we wouldn't be playing next week.

He was influential if not on the scoreboard, just shows his versatility.

Benefited from the Gilbert move forward, just kept the defenders more accountable, after losing Kosi to the ruck for most of the second half.

Not a huge amount of inside 50's for the Saints today, so his game can only improve if we can better this, and the licence to get on his bike even more with Kosi likely to return to FF next week.

He can still improve on his game this Saturday though, I'd back him to take it up another gear.

Thought the kid Brown, played well though BTW.

Riewoldt was probably the best forward on the ground, but unfortunately for him & the other forwards in the game, both teams chose to play a style of game which didn't allow the forwards to shine. The ball spent so much time on or over the boundary line that the forwards didn't get many opportunities to stamp their authority on the game (St Kilda's total of 35 I50s made Riewoldt's job even harder).

One thing is for certain, the MCG groundsman won't have to spend too much time working on the centre corridor of the playing surface, in preparation for the replay, as the only time the ball found its way into/through the centre of the ground was at centre bounces.

It must break the heart of a forward to have your teammates bring the ball forward slowly along the boundary line & kick it to you on the boundary line, giving you a tough shot on goal, or to have it kicked to you when the opposition have been able to get a dozen players inside your attacking 50.

Got mauled a couple of times but didn't get the frees he's accustomed to. Four goals in a GF reads much better than two. Was OK without being a matchwinner so you'd have to give the points to Brown.

A champion, no doubt, but gets let off far too lightly by the media for his goalkicking.

I thought his team-mates contributed more to his day by kicking the ball over his head on quite a few occasions. In the most part I thought he was pretty good, hit the contest hard and set up a couple of plays. Had he kicked that goal in the third he would have finished with 3.2 and you'd say that was a good output.

I would have had him in my top 6 for the Saints. Goddard, Hayes, Fisher and maybe Gwilt ahead of him.

No way Riewoldt was beaten today.

5 shots on goal from only 35 entries.

Worked hard all day, poor delivery due to the pressure up field most of the day.

Thought he was in our best 6-8.

Much better GF for him this year than last. Was comprehensively beaten by Taylor in 09, but came out about even with Brown, maybe even a little on top as the day wore on. He did some important things up the ground in the last quarter. If he has a big game next week then the Pies are in real trouble.

You are all jealous you don't have him in your team, and fair enough as well. I don't know any decent forward that regularly kicks more accurately than him and regularly lead his team to at least a preliminary.

It is amazing how hard people are on him. Grand finals are not the stage upon which power forwards typically excel, especially in the modern era of team defense.

Taylor beat him in the wet with two other team mates hanging on each of his arms. Great individual effort that.
