How did he get so bulky that fast?
What did he look like in Feb—March?
Either way I can’t wait to see him play, I wonder what his agility is like currently, because whenever I see him in a game, he moves like a midfielder.
Standing up straight and relaxed he probably wouldn't look so big. I've seen similar action shots of guys like Milera and Pedlar, and while they're definitely toned, they aren't anywhere near as big as the photos can make them look.

He's 200cm+ and well over 100kg, that's big from any angle!

Hopefully club deliberately has him bulked up so that he can finish the rest of the year inside forward 50.

In 2023 we were 2nd in the AFL for contested marks. 4th for marks inside 50.

In 2024 we are 9th this year for contested marks. 11th for marks inside 50.

Sit him up forward the rest of the year and dont batter his body in the ruck.

Surprising we are 9th for contested marks without filthy and Murray all year.

He was one of the better contested marks in the league last year too, this year we only have Fog and Daws inside the top 15. RT back just improves our structures up forward massively.

He averaged less contested marks than ROB last year!!

Walker has dropped significantly and missing Filthy is what really turned the dial IMO.

Actually suspect he was somewhat important to the game plan they were intending. A lot of their long kicks to contests up the wing work a lot better with a beast contested marker in the line up.

100% agree.

Also think we looked a lot better structurally with Himmelberg in the side playing his role....

Himmelberg is nowhere near as good as Filthy, but Nicks shouldn't have waited till we were 1-5 to get him into the side.

There’s a kg in that beard.
That's so when he gets a falcon, it goes further

Doesn't come near to explaining all or even most of this disaster of a year, but given he was one off the key ones where improvement was supposed to come from it's hurt a lot.
It kind of does, if the entire gameplan was to get the ball about 75m out and bomb it long to Filthy.

Which has the obvious issue of what happens when he's not playing.

That game plan still fails though. Teams simply don’t take that many contested marks to make a game plan reliant on them successful. Since 2021 we’ve played that way and it never worked. And as far back as 2021 we played fast and overlapping at times and looked good. The only problem was sustaining it for long enough. And instead of being brave and wearing the bad as we developed, we retreated to the attacking plan that is designed yo make defending easier.

There were numerous posters who didn’t think we’d lose too much with Burgess covering TT’s role. I recall being somewhat shocked at the time.

Would help ‘bring the ball to ground’ but our mids and forwards would have to be way better at reading/positioning off of packs for that to work
