Honestly, #$$@ GWS.

I know there's an element of hindsight being 20/20 but the kid wanted to return home and play for the team he loved, but they wanted to make a statement and forced him to sit out a year before trading anyway. There's a real person behind the contract and all I can say is @#$% them.

Yep they can go and get ****ed, i have no doubt that keeping him set in motion the events which have lead to today.

I wish nothing but bad fortune on those silver spooned f***wits

Also they should never had drafted him in the first place

I know we're all tragics here but footy is just a fun little distraction at the end of the day. The boys will likely come out flat tonight and that's ok. This weekend go and spend time with your loved ones. Have a beer, go to a restaurant, play some board games even and be sure to laugh a lot. RIP Cam.

I dunno. I got this feeling there's going to be an ambush tonight. We're going to come out breathing fire.

Just awful, deepest condolences.

Obviously never knew much about him but he liked playing my mob with a couple of bags of 3 and 4 or so when we played, so got to experience his undeniable talent first hand.

RIP Cam.

This ovation thing is a bit wierd for me, what if the Swans are lining up for goal at that time.
There's already a pre game tribute.

It's just a distraction the players don't need.
I know it doesn’t feel like it sometimes but there are more important things than footy. For me at least, tonight’s result is suddenly not as important as it was yesterday. It’s just how I feel currently

I really hope you're right, beating the ladder leaders would be a hell of a tribute, but if they're flat I'm giving them a pass this week.

That’s so sad. Awful news. Gutted for his family and friends. Always bled purple and was born the year we started in the AFL.

I agree that the ovation might get a bit brutal on the players who might otherwise be happy to try compartmentalise it and play the game.

Having said that if the result is the players get distracted, we get belted, and we miss out on the finals on percentage, I'd happily stand for Cam and finish 9th.

He was born on the day we played our first AFL game vs Richmond in 1995

Nah there will be Purple Haze game later this year
Yep, Purple Hands is the Charity arm of the Freo FC.

Supports things like the all-abilities programs, school projects, Kimberley 9's. So supporting youth or those with a disadvantage through a sport lense.

Purple Haze/Starlight is an affiliation with an existing charity for kids in hospital.

Glad they do both. Proud of the club for these sort of things.

that just starts the tears flowing again
Apologies if it seems like I’m trivialising things, but this came to mind straight away (especially as I did the SW marathon last Saturday)

these situations have no right or wrong way to react

I was thinking about when Phil Walsh was murdered and the Adelaide team had to hold it together - very different circumstances, but still a very public grief
