Great to see Fog named. Didn't particularly stand out through the preseason games but I think he'll be a better player for us than many are expecting.

I had him in my best side but as one of the handful fighting it out for the remaining couple of spots in the 22.

Newly traded in players always tend to get a game or two within the first 3 or 4 rounds. Need to justify the trade.

Hopefully he becomes a solid player for us. He has some traits we can use.

What would be your reasoning, from the 2 praccy games?
It’s a close one. Cuningham could come in with Williams out. I still think he doesn’t provide enough over the course of a game.
I’d still favour Gibbons as he is proven to be more reliable. Over 30 possessions in reserves game shows he is in form. I’d give him midfield minutes with Williams out.

Fogerty really impressed me with his tackling and pressure inside the forward 50 against the Saints as mentioned above. We desperately need that tomorrow night, especially if H and CAS are somehow not clunking their marks, having a pressure player like that at a spillage front and centre is pivotal to provide more scoring opportunities with locking the ball inside. Something we’ve not been good at for a while

on the graph of expectation I am riding the pregame up swing.

Do i think we are a shoe in?
No, not at all....

Would an upset be amazing to see?
Yes and I'm feeling Bullish about it.

Out of the 22 players lining up for Carlton tomorrow, there will be two men pulling on the navy blue jumper for the first time.
“Fogarty will play, he’s been very good for us. Him and Adam Saad will debut for the Carlton Football club this weekend which is really exciting,” he said.

As for the remaining 20 players set to be named at 6:20 tonight, big names like Eddie Betts, Levi Casboult and Harry McKay need to get through today’s training session.

Hm.

Don't like that this means a developing player misses out on a reserves game, or that the reserves side is weakened by taking one of their best players out and plonking them on the senior bench to potentially not play a minute of football.

Do like that the choice to sub a player off is in the hands of the club doctor. Just gotta hope they're given some clear expectations around how loose they can be with "precuationary" decisions.
Positive for us is we are playing Thursday, sun not used he can play over the weekend in the VFL or if he gets limited game time then they could look at a half in the VFL.

it’s going to be abit of an advantage for clubs playing Thursday or Friday night

DOesnt matter how it happens but shows its going to be a concern for the next month at a minimum and will probably result in lesser output from him which isnt ideal.
I disagree. He may have some pain that he needs to play through but that is not unusual. Also an ankle strain in no way equates to a month or more of impact.
He wouldn’t be playing if there is the risk of further injury or if he has incurred any structural damage.

I heard Hardwick on this. Number 23 or 24 usually only get a half max in reserves anyway so they can play if required. It all depends on timing of games

Jack Martin didn’t part take in training this morning? Management or going to miss?

With Harry being a bit suspect and if the 23rd man comes in, does O-Mac get the fluro top (you know they need a fluro top on so we know he is the 23rd man and doesnt just run on....)
The problem with that is if Harry is injured then OMac plays and Harry is the Fluor best player. They will need to have another in the waiting.
