EFAHow funny. Did you forget the whole 37 years of their rebuild, before winning it?
Just got some really bad/devastating news. My Aunt (and favourite one at that) is in hospital in very critical condition and may not make it through the night.
I am feeling really crushed and I do not feel like going to tomorrow night's game now, especially if she passes away.
Hard to focus on footy right, my Aunt (Mona) has lived a very difficult life, and was/is one of the most kind hearted and gentle souls I have ever known..
Feeling really crushed right now
Spot on, I can’t believe people are hoping for an honourable loss fmd, we will beat this mob and tonight’s the night injuries be damned this is still a very good Carlton side and win we will. Not sure why so many are giving up on a possible win, while we are non favourites, doesn't mean a win would be a shock
Some happy news to report, my Aunt has had a remarkable recovery, and whilst not out of the woods yet, looks like she is likely to make.
Massive relief after a very anxious night and I am now able to go to the footy.
Massive shout out to all the paramedics, doctors and nurses at Box Hill Hospital. I cannot thank them enough, many of them are over-worked and underpaid (especially nurses).
Now let's go out and grab that W tonight Baggers

With Cripps and Dow feeding the runners with game breaking handballs we will win. Blues by 24.
See Geelong in Geelong for proof of merit. Did the Tigers think they could beat us after losing 11 of 12, well we have lost the last 10 and it stops tonight expect a win.Realism also tells me that we are underdogs for the exact things you have highlighted.
If Teague has learnt anything from last year, it is to combat our greatest weakness, lapses that allowed sides to get a run-on, yet we never really had a blowout loss.
"If it bleeds, you can kill it"
It has to end sometime Crush just as our run over them had to end, they are just a football side and they can be beaten, would I prefer to have Charlie, Williams, Marchbank etc hell yeah but the tide is turning and this side can do it.fu** I wish I shared your optimism ...
Mate my guts are churning at the prospect I literally feel sick, but tonight’s the night we make them bleed and show what we are made of, we’ve done the work now we get it done.
All the best for your post op recovery mate.I have had the last week on my back in the austin hospital having a triple by pass so have had much time to contemplate.
Alot of it under the influence of pain killers that take you to that grey area you dont wanna go.
But in this time i had what i am calling an a epiphany in BLUE
I saw how much the man on mark rule is gonna change game in my deepest sedations.
Gonna put us all back to square 1 virtually and Richmond's current domination of game styles will be decimated greatly.
Unfortunately my vision showed Gov running around and hitting 65m bullets that where undefendable.
Also Fish and Murph.
And no vision required for mine to see Cripps destroying it tonight.
They got nobody to stop him.
Oh well see how we go but thats my take and evem though i was woken by a nurse before final siren.....
We are gonna win.
That is fantastic news mate. Really relieved and happy for you!
SPS rarely gets beaten by a small nor does plowman. That should sort two. One will need to go to saad as he’s going to tear them up.I am not worried about Reiwoldt and Lynch.
I am worried about their small fwds.
No doubt that the Swans should have done better to protect their player, as we should have done a better job in looking after our own over the years.Fair call. I'd suggest it would be incumbent upon the Swans to protect their young star rather than us choosing another player to target. Things like the Mills incident have always happened to test youngsters. Remember the unsociable Hawks? They did these types of things regularly.
You are right, generally speaking and it says a bit that we targetted a kid on that night. No doubt that the Swans should have done better to protect their player, as we should have done a better job in looking after our own over the years.
My point is that clubs like the Hawks, Cats, Tigers etc made their attack on man and ball a consistent part of their game, not something to do just because the opponent was deemed to be an easy target, it's something that differentiates the contenders from the also-rans IMO.
Queue the excuses from punt road...Cotchin's overrated anyways.Apparently Cotchin missing with gastro? Radio rumour it seems?
100% Agree, Jones is a better ruckman, Omac might get slaughtered but at least it’s setting ourselves up with the best chance to win, instead of limiting the damage. Jones plays Forward/RuckGoing to be a very difficult task tonight with the 22 as is - if Levi is a late out as has been suggested I think we are in big trouble. Not only with limited forward targets, but obviously the back up ruck duties. It has been flagged before, but if we do bring OMac in for Levi, rather than OMac as the backup ruck I’d be putting him in the backline and giving LJ a go in the ruck. Quicker, bigger leap, quite nice foot skills (for a KPD at least).
Could be worth a go, now that we have a decent backup KPD in Oscar.

Go baggers!!!
Good to hear the ticker op go well, but I hope for your sake (and your heart's sake) Carlton doesn't do a Carlton tonight and leak a 5 goal lead, go 5 down and win by a point in the last minute...I have had the last week on my back in the austin hospital having a triple by pass so have had much time to contemplate.
