Do you think this is a "Danger Game"?

Out: Maxwell, Sidebottom (sup), Blair (i Know he was good last week, but he cant stay in the team for 1 good game every 3, when we have so much depth)

In: Swan, Ball Grundy/Broomhead

Not sure about that matty. Reid will play forward with Cloke and White playing the Leigh Brown role. Our small forwards in Elliott, Blair and Fas are super dangerous. Really like this set up. One ruck is the way to go and I doubt we will see them play together again this year.
I won't be completely against it if we do go with White as the secondary ruck I just think we haven't seen White in that position in a big game against quality opposition yet.

Time will tell, we'll definitely do it against a good side at some point but I reckon Grundy comes in against the Dees and can't see Witts getting dropped.

I see where you are coming from matty but White gives us the contest we need whilst allowing runners to come into the side. I was in favour of two rucks but now I see it as suicide. Alternate Grundy and Witts in the side. Until one of them can show something forward.

I really like the setup we used tonight. Having Cloke roaming high up the ground, working his opponent over and opening up the forward line worked a treat.
Witts rucking solo with White's backing went well and you can just tell he's going to be a real beast in a year or so.
I'm not going to make calls on who we should bring in/drop but we should definitely look at using the same one ruck setup as it allows us a lot more run. White also gets into the game more too and he's so good around the ground.
Some real positives came from tonight despite the report and injuries. Nice job by the boys, they kept the foot on the throat instead of easing up which is something we have to keep doing.

who comes in to cover maxy?

send goldy back?

Yes. Goldy was extremely poor up forward tonight. I'm not copping the 'but he chases and tackles and pressures etc' crap any more. He had 1 kick for the night and it went on the full. If you're only getting 1 kick you would want to be laying 20 tackles. If he's to play he needs to go back and defend, which he does well.

Anyway I'll have a guess at our changes.

In - Grundy, Ball, Swan
Out - Sidebottom, Maxwell, Adams

I liked White playing in the ruck tonight. Thought he offered a fair bit and it allows him to get involved in the game. However back at the MCG, on a bigger deck I think we'll go back to the 2 ruck set up. However it wouldn't surprise me if we rest Witts and leave Adams in the team. Yes his kicking was poor. He's not a bad kick, it's just nerves and he's rushing himself a bit too much at times. People need to lay off him. Sometimes when you try too hard it just doesn't work for you. He'll get there. I just wish people would show support instead of laying the boots in.

Bally and Swanny will be fit and firing after a 2 week rest.

Melbourne are a crap team this is the week to experiment a bit, give a couple of guys a rest and reward performers in the vfl.

Out: Maxwell, Blair, Lumumba, Sidebottom
In: Martin, karnezis, Armstrong, Dwyer.

Would bring swan back but he could do with an extended break

I actually think we need to persist with Adams.. If he is the heir apparent to Ball then he needs game time.

Out : Maxy, Sidebottom, Witts
In : Swan, Grundy, Dwyer
Thomas is the true heir to the throne.

My side:

FB: Toovey Frost Williams
HB: Young Keeffe Langdon

C: Lumumba Swan Seedsman

HF: Fasolo White Blair
FF: Elliot Cloke Goldsack

R: Grundy Beams Pendles

INT:
Thomas
Macaffer
Ball

SUB:
Adams

EMG:
Witts
Kennedy
Dwyer

OUT:
Maxwell (calf)
Sidebottom (susp)
Witts (rest)

IN:
Swan
Ball
Grundy

I would prefer to drop Adams than to drop Witts but I agree that the one ruck plus White setup looked a lot more damaging. I would like to have a look at Grundy in the same setup, so I would make the swap, plenty of time for them both to develop to the point where they can play in the same side every week.

I would ‘demote’ Adams to the sub, he burned the ball and needs to learn not to. That said he did other stuff well and is hungry, so I wouldn’t drop him.

I would play Faz forward, he is just too dangerous not to use him where he can have the greatest impact, he, Elliot and Cloke make a great potent mix.

And besides we have Seeds, Lumuba and Young to run off that half back line, not to mention Williams and Langdon, so I reckon we balance up very nicely, even without Maxwell.

Blair and Goldsack hang on for another week, and Ball gets to prove the doubters wrong, but those are the 3 that I reckon could be pushed out by the end of the year.

Reid still a few VFL games away from playing seniors I reckon.

Karnezis has done his hammy... won't be playing AFL any time soon :(

I missed why Swan and Grundy didn't play? anyone know? were they "rested"

Seriously.. you watched that game and thought at the end of it... "Thomas didn't play very well but gee Adams did".

No. I never said that.

Adams played awfully. I said possibly on Thomas due to his bump.
