Honey is in the same position as Owies, Stocker and Kennedy were - racking up good numbers week in week out and having to wait for an opportunity. Ed Curnow made a very good point about how to get picked - he said you have to beat your competition in training first. My advice to Honey would be to smash whoever he is up against in training and do it over and over again as well as keep playing well in VFL.
maybe he already is?... Owies out being managed this week, Fogarty the week before.... someone get Eddie off the track ASAP....

Does nobody here put two and two together and think that the Carlton Cheersquad twitter just MIGHT get their information from here?

I know the guy that used to run the WBD cheer squad. He knew NOTHING the general public didn't.
Always a possibility. Not sure who runs the cheersquad socials, but Risto has been known to get some info from time to time.

A late could be any of the 22. Royalblues had mail on cotts being the late out, newnes and Williams were both sore during the game, it could be anyone. It might end up that nobody is a late out, but this is Carlton we’re talking about lol

Gah! I missed no point!

I know this of course - my original comment on the matter was just that people here (and on Twitter, which may have clouded my view) really did seem to actually believe his selection was based on that kick.

And then, by extension, I figured fans of other clubs thought the same thing about similar social media posts by their team. Agree it’s purely and simply a bit of fun, I just shudder a bit thinking that some adults might believe the kicks mean something
Ah, I see, please accept my apologies then 5 (1).gif

No Harry :'(

OUT: Harry
IN: Owies
EMG: Fog (incl in the emergencies)

Harry McKay has been withdrawn from the 22 for tomorrow’s clash with North Melbourne.
McKay will miss the game due to a toe injury, at this stage he will be a test for next week.
The 23-year-old was named in the selected side last night to give him every chance of playing, but after not completing a fitness test at Captain’s Run today, the decision was made to give him the week to recover.

Matthew Owies will come into the 22 while Lachie Fogarty has been named as an emergency.

I love Owies, but it seems foolish to replace a KPF with a small forward. Surely makes more sense to bring in Kemp and either use him and Crippa as KPF or play Kemp in defence and free up Jones to play forward.
None are ideal options, but surely better than all smalls.

Cripps may play some time forward regardless, we managed the midfield without him last week.

So much for Owies being 'managed'

What's the difference? Managed if everything lined up and Harry got up, it didn't, so he's back in. We're now just taking potshots at every selection decision i think.

Jones forward?? Not sure we have anyone else..
Would rather play smaller and leave our backline unchanged. No point in f****** the structure of our backline just to put someone tall up forward, who probably won't perform their anyway.

Got Silvagni & Martin, then Cripps & Kennedy can go forward. Kemp if he's a late inclusion.

Can we not have one ****ing week of no late week injury outs??? Also, our stocks are rooted.

Has a team ever won a game with zero KPFs in the side? Our injury list is now just about longer than our fit list.

Russell must be scratching his head.
