Came with Smoking or Non Smoking carriages. You had to be a wrestler just to open and close the doors. Lovely old fittings though.
Loved the red rattlers used to travel to Geelong to visit my Nan and Pop, also used to go to Bendigo on them loved the seperate cabins, I miss them.

Seems that two Dees players - as yet unnamed - are set to be suspended for this week's game (one is in the team to play us) due to breaching COVID rules.

EDIT: Beaten to the punch. Wonder if that affects us naming SOS replacement. Surely we go a forward now rather than bringing in another back rotation in Willo. Big emphasis on TMac and Fritsch for them now (as perma forwards). Maybe means Harley and Trac need to stay forward more, too.

Will take anything at this point.

I will say the weekly suspensions will grow old quick.

Got a feeling it will be Philp.

The announcement about Jack being out, with a "we'll announce his replacement later on" makes me think the club want to pull some strings to make sure Philp getting told he's debuting is met with plenty of fanfare from the players and a couple of cameras from the media department.

Reckon if it was just going to be Kennedy in they would have said so in the initial announcement.
Sucks about SOS.

What I'd like: Willo/Philp
What I think will happen: Kennedy/Lang

also would like Willo or Philp

Philp - up forward, recall he can apply pressure, great for the kid
Willo - down back or wing on Tomlinson, we need his peg cutting up zones, release SPS into the middle rotations
Kennedy - slow but so is JSOS, recall more marking forward then pressure forward so not for JSOS replacement
Lang - I got nothin, nah seriously he can run and he is an opportunist up forward and he doesn’t appear slow

What is the best we can anticipate from Lang? He might get the odd goal here and there but for me he just doesn’t have any skill set/feature that adds a great deal to our team. I don’t see how he made it on the emergency list.

Depth at best. If he plays at all this year we are in some serious trouble.

Best option IMO:

Out: JSOS
In: Williamson (to play in defense)
SPS moves into the midfield and spends time resting forward as required.

YES!!!!

Philp adds genuine forward pressure and speed.

Don't see a role for Kennedy with Casboult, McGovern and McKay around.

YES!!!!

Brings back some very old memories. The old wooden carriages. The saloon-style interiors. Riding along with the doors open and head outside the door.

Apologies if this is 'de-railing' the match thread...
Or maybe it should go in the training thread...

Oops... I'll see myself out!

Two Demons set to be suspended for breaking AFL's COVID-19 protocols

The Demons have become the latest club to be involved in COVID-19 breaches.

Great point. Only concern is defence possibly too tall? Not that Melbourne have any dangerous smalls.

Pickett out, and a possible replacement for him (Spargo) to boot.

Probably ends up being Neal-Bullen (who is a handy but unspectacular small), Bedford or Lockhart (who are really nothing to write home about).

Fritsch, McDonald, Melksham | Willo, Weiters, Doc
Neal-Bullen, Jackson, Petracca | Simmo, Jones, Plowman

SPS the rotation with Willo/Simmo/Doc through the guts and wings.

That being said, watch Melbourne throw us a curve ball and bring Weideman in.

I see Williamson as a player lining up on small defenders much like a Dylan Grimes type. He's quick and mobile which allows him to compete at ground level.

I reckon he'd be a good match up for Bennell, but he'd also be suitable for Melksham or Hunt.
