Have to say that despite the efforts of their fans, I had genuine respect for the GFC before tonight. Not anymore though, that was the most disgusting collective playing for frees effort I have ever seen, and the worst thing was the umpires would reward them time and time again without fail.

Mooney and Cletus started the hostilities that day. Spent the first quarter trying to smash Crowley. We received 10 free kicks in the first quarter as those two lost the plot. Every tackle they tried to rip our guys heads off. We copped all the blame.

Then their fans cry endlessly about how our players are dirty scraggers, constantly starting shit behind play and forcing their players to respond. Like Stevie J kicking Lachie in the head. All our fault.

What a ripping game. I can't wait until we have our revenge! I am a proud purple Freo Docker this morning after the courage and fight we showed. We could have won that game in so many different ways but it was not to be. We can't lament on the past but look forward to the future! Bring on the Hawks, Bring on the finals!

I thought there would be a begrudging respect built up among both sets of fans, but it turns out 99% of Geelong fans are absolute flogs who have let their recent success cloud their memories of a history of under-achieving.

I hope we get another crack at them this year.

There's been too many incidents to remember over the past few years and their fans are a bunch of morons.

People talk about Solomon/Ling as the start of it but I prefer to go back to Anzac Day 2008 when we softened those bastards up. Gary Ablett Jr exposed himself as a whinging piece of crap and losing by one point.

The day of Solomon/Ling, I won't ever forget how much of a sniping team Geelong really were. I counted that day from memory, 3 incidents that should've seen Geelong players rubbed out.....not one was cited which led me to believe they were protected species.

2009 saw Ling go as red as his hair and of course the non holding the ball call that robbed Freo of what could've been victory.

2010 the first game was a great advertisement for football however that SF was a dark night with one Geelong fan in particular being a w***er (I was having a go at the umpires that night, not your team). So that fan confirmed my low opinion of that supporter base.

2011 was a tame encounter from memory.

2012 was Ballantyne vs Johnson and Scarlett being the utter turd he is and then their arrogance going into the final which was quickly wiped out....then their fans called Ballantyne a paedophile. Biggest bunch of classless ****ers I've ever encountered.

2013 was all about sticking it up those ****ers following the AFL's disgraceful decision to send the final to Shithouse Stadium and that final was the sweetest result ever.

2014 was Stevie J being an absolute turd and the amount of sucking off of the umpires that Geelong do.

Regardless, it's a great rivalry but the team are sniping, ducking turds and the fans are out and out ****wits who have a sense of entitlement that gives them an arrogance that shits me. Can't wait to see those ****ers when a wooden spoon comes their way one day.

It was a poor second quarter for. The first term was good, a lot of the ball in Freo's 50 but experienced heads missed simple shots from easy ranges. That was frustrating, but the inability to put that behind them and get on par or on top of the Cats in the second was the killer. It was just a lack of intensity really, not enough running and some dumb decisions.

The final quarter was awesome though, it showed resilience and steel and most importantly this: at best, Freo is the best. The attack, the everything. The boys all lifted and didn't get disheartened or played in the games some of the Cats softcocks were trying to lure. Thought everyone stepped up but guys like Fyfe, Mundy, Crozier, Neale, and of course Duffy, managed to take it to themselves, that was the strong point.

Barlow's smother in the Geelong pocket in the last term seemed to show that great side of Freo, the one that comes every so often and could win a flag. Desperate and smart and clinical stuff.

Honestly though, it was an entertaining game of footy. It seemed all right that last kick. Everyone was biting tongues and fingers, it was silent, and the stand behind the goals was going crackers... it seemed meant to be but it wasn't.

A very disappointing game but one I felt very proud of as a Freo fan.

The thing I take away is excitement: for Fyfe, for Duffy and Croz, and to see Fremantle deliver on that last quarter.

Bring on the Hawkers.

The players seemed to be getting so angry at what was happening to them. Against the Saints we wilted more and more as the game went on and couldn't change anything around. This time every time Geelong got an undeserved goal from an undeserved free-kick we seemed to respond with venom, which is why they just couldn't shrug us off and get a 5 + goal lead on us.

Some collective realisation that we can actually turn that manic pressure on again; and that we're kinda like... really super duper good. Like possibly the best team in the comp (possibly). The belief is back.

I pretty much felt the umpiring derp went in all directions.

I wasn't having a dig, the umpiring was shit and you called it. If they are there to be given then it wouldn't bother me if Freo lost the count 80 - 0. Problem is that alot were not really there yesterday, or more so that the 50/50's went Geelong's way very frequently and conversely very infrequently for Freo.

Nah dude no worries I didn't interpret it as a dig. It's more that that post was about specific incidents and losing an enjoyment for the game rather than team biases.

I'm not very good at tallying so I just remember being irritated at both teams frees and then being irritated at Geelong in general in the 4th qtr.

Anyway, I think I'm going to make a quick exit coz after reading the last 5 pages umpiring seems to be a dangerous topic for a Cats fan...
