Armfield, straight up for starters and that should have been the case the week before.

Fair enough.
I'm a big Dennis fan, but he clearly hasn't been right this year and his pace has been massively effected.
And Dennis without his pace is not an AFL player unfortunately.

Has he looked quicker in the 2s?

Exactly my feeling on Saturday given he was hardly used through the centre.

Will be a bit of a mystery should Brock be retained for this game. Graham was doing all the running that McLean would have usually done.

McLean is a mid that can kick goals through finding space running in and not a forward that can find space whilst being tagged.

Is McLean playing sore?

He wasn't very good 1 on 1 on Saturday. Got pushed around very easily which wasn't particularly McLean-like.

He did kick 1.3 and had have that been 4 goals we may be speaking differently today although I'm not even so sure about that.
The way i see it, to move forward we can't have McLean & Ellard in the side anymore unfortunately.

It hasn't been Dennis's year after no pre-season.
He has although showed his customary dash through a few of the NB games. May still be sore. I don't know.

We all did wonder though when McLean was selected as the sub for last weeks game against Fremantle.
Reckon Armfield's speed may have been just a little more useful.

If Jeffy was in form and others weren't injured, I doubt they would be. Only a matter of time. Ellard probably safer than Brock though.

It wasn't as much for McLean looking slow by foot as it was that he looked slow by mind.
I was at the ground and Brock did very little to get involved in the game in the way he had in previous years.
There may be good reasons for this but didn't look good for Brock leading into this game.

Given Cripps was put forward in the last half yesterday, one can see for the reasons to oust McLean.
Playing the speedy Lemmens on McLean signalled that other coaches have noticed his lack of pace.

Yeh he squeezed passed Brock a couple of times

After yesterdays game, I'd go:

Simpson Jamison Tuohy
Thomas Rowe Sheehan
Docherty Carrazzo Gibbs
Menzel Casboult Bell
Cripps Waite Johnson

Wood Judd Murphy

Curnow Graham White SUB: Armfield

May well not be enough to beat Geelong but all these guys are fit.
Suspect though that Ellard will hold his spot at the expense of Johnson coming in.

Possibles = Garlett, Watson
Long shot = Holman, Lucas
No shot = Warnock, McInnes

Mclean yes, not so sure i'd completely put a line through Ellard.
I'd play him as a small forward that can go through the midfield.
Or play him as a sub.

I personally don't see Ellard's value beyond his tackling unfortunately. If he has a blinder he might get 3 goals max, and even then its a very rare occurrence. He's non existent above his head too. Even Garlett who has had a beyond awful year has been more productive in front of goals.

Carrots thinks Yazz could play. Might be talking crap and just being positive, but he said scans showed only low grade strain so we might get Yazz back this year.
