Well Plowman had a corked quad so might miss...he's been in poor form anyway wouldn't mind if he was dropped.
Could bring in Marchbank and Weitering for 2 of Plowman/Rowe/O'Shea.

Fantasia is injured and from reading the Essendon preview thread, Tippa has been out of form this year.

Tippa is the exact type of player that can hurt us and I still recall him being the difference against both sides the last they played

The crap Murphy cops is ridiculous.
Alongside Cripps he is easily our best midfielder and our best running, link up midfielder.

With Murphy we probably beat West Coast, who we only lost to by 10 points.

I'd be far more confident of beating Essendon and even Melbourne if we had him for those games.

Yeah, I know mate. Cops a lot of nonsense based on perception from afar. He is appreciated more by the silent majority in most part. He been through horrible time at our club and will see it through to the end as one club player. Had a crap full of injuries in last 3 to 5 years and just gets back out there eventually and on with it. If he was playing in a time with players like Sheldon, Jimmy Buckley and Ashman he would be appreciated more for what class he has. Hopefully he gets a well deserved reward at end of his career like Crawford did if can hang on for another 3 years.

It's not like our forward line has mega experience. And we could do without some of the errant disposal from the back line.
I'm all for increased forward pressure, but Simmo is the general down back and without him setting up down there the backline could get pretty shakey.

He's also not a huge tackler and more of play maker.

How about Polson though? He's fast and tackles well. Why not bring him into the team and set him the task of chasing and harrasing his guts out.

I like those changes on paper, though i don't see us ever making 6 changes in a week.

I doubt Murphy will be ready though?
Also VFL watchers seem to think Lang looked short of run on the weekend...though with 2 games back i'd probably elevate him to the seniors anyway.
We're guaranteed to make at least 4 changes, with a very strong chance of a 5th change.

Don’t worry the media will build up * for this one. Slobbho wil slam them and everyone will expect them to win as we are too young and too many injuries.

Floggard will probably beat up on one of our kids, and get 40 useless possessions.

Out: Kreuzer (still not 100%), o’vei-O’shea, Cas, Plowman
In: Weitering, Lamb, Marchbank, Curnow

Simmo to the forward line is a ludicrous idea.
Last night I was baffled why when the kick to themselves and near player Shepard to get more penetrating distance was non existinance
Hell this isn’t a hard thing to do
Get in from of player put wings out and protect your team mate to gain meterage
Like are these simple things thrown out the door?
Come on blues
Pick up your game ffs

Watched Kerr yesterday. Competes and has a bit of physical presence. Is an old fashioned leading FF who showed a few more tricks yesterday. Looks physically ready. I reckon he’s in for Casboult. Like for like.
Polson was really quick and lively. Just wish he could bring his intensity and tackling to the AFL games. I’d play him as a small forward ahead of Garlett who lacks intensity.
Weiters has to come in. Absolutely nothing gained from playing him at that level again. Weiters in for O’Shea (or Plowman if injured).
A 3/4 fit Lang should come in and play as a small forward. Rotating on ball with Wright and polson.
As much as I desperately want to beat *don, CHARLIE, MURPH & MARCHBANK not picked unless 100% fit.
Have to keep Phillip’s and Kruez now Cas is out.

They copped a fair old pasting last week from Robbo and Co, didn’t help much with Hawks, not an issue IMHO

I can’t even see us getting close
Daniher will stitch us up and actually have a good one
We’ll be miserable up forward now with cas out
Dame I hate 2018

Really? Given Essendon's current form there is no way we'll get 'blown away'...i think we have a real shot of winning, if we lose i don't expect it to be by more than 20 points.

* are an extreme one-way-front-running bunch of downhill skiers.

If we bring the tackling pressure and intent that we have the past couple of games (60+), whilst playing a more balanced squad, there's no chance we get blown out.

He's 34 and Docherty, Byrne, Williamson & Cuningham are all injured...why on earth would we move our only experienced small defender and leave Mullett as the only one??

Makes zero sense.

Yeah he had an off game but that doesn't mean you change him to a position he's basically never played in at the very end of his career, when we are crying out for run off half back.

Relying on a 34 year old for run makes sense? :drunk:
And you're repeating yourself :D

Simmo to the forward line is a ludicrous idea.

Do you even watch our team? With our current injuries Simmo and Mullett are basicallly our only smaller defenders...and you want to take out the experienced one and put him in the forward line where he has never played before...at 34 years of age.

Are you suggesting Simmo doesn't provide run and rebound from D50?

Yeah I do watch. As I said just a thought, but if we we want to stay with the same old failed setups, then carry on.

Obviously some things need to change, but i dont think that's one of them.

In fact most of what Bolton speaks about is getting continuity and players playing the same role, playing together to get cohesion...so rather than changing too much it's actually about players just understanding their roles and teammates better that will see us improve.

That and replacing players not up to it (eg O'Shea, Rowe) with our better, currently injured players.
