He must be kidding - They need an urgent rebuild due to a whole bunch of ageing stars, permanent injury to their brownlow medalist Cooney and a bunch of younsgsters that don't look like they will take the Bullfdogs to premiership glory (Stack, Higgins, Barlow, Hill etc etc)

They do have a great nucleus of good players but the rebuild must start now - not pissy tinkering around the edges like a "refresh" suggests.

I initially thought that but why would a President come out and say we are going to "rebuild"? who is going to want to be our sponsor? why would fairweather supporters bother paying for memberships or attending?

Just saw it on Fox Sport news that Eade WILL coach the last 3 games... so yep just a non-renewal of his contract

our W/L ratio is one of the best in the league over the last 5 per dollar spent on footy dept.

I'm struggling to see the rationale for moving on a coach who has been severely under resourced in his main coaching tool, yet has taken us to 3 prelims in a row. The persons moving him on have done little in the way of addressing that area as we are still riddled with debt.

Simon Garlick and james Fantasia do not fill me with the greatest sense of confidence. Garlick's appointment was very on the nose and he hasn't done much to change that view.

Yes agree. What could Rocket have done if there was an injection of funds into the football department when he took us to three prelims? Now that it might happen they give him the chop? Want to start fresh? Don't like this. But Rocket will have the last laugh as he will have a new job in a few days.

Geez one average year and he is gone after making what 3 prelims in a row.

Too much blame is put on the coaches these days its beyond ridiculous.
It is a 17 team comp i guarantee it 100% every damn year there HAS to be bottom 4 teams. It doesn't mean they are bad it could just mean the others are better. (Although this year has been different in terms of the gap between best and worst).
Having said that look at West Coast' rise from last year it just shows what a bit of faith and patience in your coach can do.

Lol, his leaving may have had something to do with the big money job offer from the swans, unfortunately that didn't pan out and he managed to be a huge success at the tigs with their winning culture and first class facilities

Agree here, how long did it take for Mick to win a flag with the Pies? And Mick is considered arguably the best in the industry atm.

Next will be Primus .
MM should stand firm and say NO to Buckley taking over if the Pies win this year .If he has to go as coach then Melb would be better than the Dogs for him to coach.

whats sad about this is even swartze can read smorgon like a book. listen to the following interview on sen and swartze calls him out on what type of coach they are going after. their minds already made up on who they want, Leon Cameron is a certainty:

Couldn't give less of a **** about Eade as a coach or person (is he officially the longest serving coach without a flag?) - but I have to say I don't understand how Footscray can say that the next guy is unquestionably a better fit for the Bulldogs.

Garlick has always struck me as a massive lightweight, and this is a pretty lightweight decision.

Is it definitely Cameron? Primus stylez?
