There's a spud thread for Nelson but he was OK against Port. Didn't try to break every tackle only to be caught HTB. Petruccelle has overtaken him on my shitlist. Is Jacko Nelson worth a mention?

If NicNat smashes Grundy in two weeks, he's #1. Fair enough?imo Gawn is the number 1 ruck, NN is close (but I can see why people have NN at no 1) then there is Grundy, then there is ******* infinite daylight to the next
Gawn for me is and has comfortably been the better player.Name a better ruck than NicNat.
I'll wait.
Gawn's definitely in the discussion.Gawn for me is and has comfortably been the better player.
Id argue Grundy too, but that's probably more debatable.
I have Nic Nat third, which is still great.
It's then a massive gap to the next ruckmen in the league.
Il concede I'm lineball on where Grundy sits, but it's clearly those 3 and a gap to the next.Gawn's definitely in the discussion.
Not sold on Grundy. With the game on the line against Brisbane he failed to impact the stoppages at all. Interesting watching vision on Final Call after the Melb vs GWS game. He gets the tap but it just gets sharked, or the player instantly gets tackled every time.
Used to grab it nout of the ruck a lot but better apparently the mids told him to stop doing that? Those mids need to pull their heads in because since he's stopped he's no longer been as dominant as he was.
Bizarre that the players/coaches would stop telling him to play to his strength in ruck contests.
Oh definitely. Hickey's come from the clouds this season though, Lycett's been good and a non-injured Witts would be the second string then daylight to anyone else really.Il concede I'm lineball on where Grundy sits, but it's clearly those 3 and a gap to the next.
He has the body to play the full year as does Gawn. Nic Nat Won’t survive the year with his size and weight carried around.Wouldn't write Grundy off just yet.
Is probably second to Walsh in our BNF currently.Fogarty has been in our second best player so far this season. There are 40 spots in the squad to be shared over 18 teams at 2.22 spots per team on average. I don’t think it is far fetched to suggest a sides second best player could be in the running for the squad, especially at this early stage.
3 games in ffs. There will be some outliers.
He’s only won one game you can’t include him Sweet JesusAnthony McDonald-Tipungwuti has started the season very well, no idea how he stacks up against the other small forwards though.

Im just taking the piss out of sweet Jesus as apparently lachie Fogarty can’t be included because he plays for Carlton. But to answer your question. Fogartys year has been better than AMT.So who are you including out of interest? And since when has an All Australian team been selected on winning games?
Im just taking the piss out of sweet Jesus as apparently lachie Fogarty can’t be included because he plays for Carlton. But to answer your question. Fogartys year has been better than AMT.
That’s one of the only stats he leads in. Fogarty is elite for tackles, inside 50s, score involvements, disposals and efficiency. All way ahead of AMT bar the SI. He even gets 3 clearances a game. 4 intercepts. All elite. It’s only a 3 game record but it’s ALL FOGARTY except for AMT has 3 more goals this year (an extra 1 a game). Half of which came in 1 game. FOG is ultra consistent.Ill take the small forward averaging 2.7 goals a game over the one averaging 0.7 thanks.
You did a poor job of it.Im just taking the piss out of sweet Jesus as apparently lachie Fogarty can’t be included because he plays for Carlton.

My bad I thought he had 1.7 scores a game. Are you still taking the piss or what?
AMT 8 goals
FOG 2 goals
That’s a pretty big difference I would have thought.
AMT also leads him in goal assists and score involvements, Fogarty may lead him in tackles but AMT leads him in tackles inside 50.
Admittedly without watching a lot of Fogarty this year it would appear he spends a lot of his time between the arcs hence his higher disposal numbers and as you alluded to his clearance work.
If I am picking a pure small forward then AMT is miles ahead at this stage.

He beat McKay, as weird as it sounds to say considering he kicked 4.How's Darcy Moore getting listed in people's Best 22?
You would be hard pressed to say he has beaten either of his opponents in the last fortnight, let alone convincingly enough to be in the AA side.
Surely then players like weitering is in front in terms of defending as he’s had 2 goals kicked on him all year.He beat McKay, as weird as it sounds to say considering he kicked 4.
If CJ isn't in consideration for your team then you haven't watched all the games.
CJ has played a truly unusual style of intercept marking, running bounces, and high possessions, from wing to deep forward.
He is unlike any other defender in the game right now. perhaps
