Problem for mine lies with the footy dept. If you don't overhaul the whole lot then we are just going have the same problem with a different bunch of players.

I've totally changed my mind on Roos. He's 100% the man to coach 2-3 years, bring in his people, reshape the list, create the game plan and then handover to a younger coach in waiting.

Yes yes yes!!! I would prefer we lost by 50-100 points every week for 2-3 years knowing we were giving the kids game time, then watching us lose by 50-100 points every week trying to crawl into the top 8 with this suborn moron at the helm.

We don't need a full list rebuild like North and Brisbane, we have a very talented core group of players under 26 years old that can win a flag in a few years, we just need to fill in the gaps with talent.

Ideal situation: Buckley goes before mid season, we concede the season is over and we are looking to bounce back quickly. We pump games into all the kids and see who has what it takes to make it.

Next year we'll get a very high draft pick from finishing bottom 4. Offer Pendles and Reid up to clubs pushing for a flag for draft picks.

Do the same again in 2020.

In 2021 we'll have a group of talented kids with 10-100 games, playing with a group of guns who will still only be 27-31 yo. We can genuinely push for a flag.

Regarding who coaches, I got no idea.

Buckley will stay til the end of the year and we'll finish 16th-18th. The club will hold a press conference announcing that Buckley wants a break from "stresses of being a head coach". He will take up a role as Director of Football. We'll hire another ex-Collingwood player as Head Coach. McGuire will then deflect all questions regarding our results and our players, and then finish with some cringe worthy lines about how "The Collingwood Football Club comes together when times are tough" and that "The Collingwood Football Club does not need to rebuild".

We also could of appointed Stewy Dew had we had the balls to make the change that should of been facilitated last year ....But I agree with you here. If we finish well outside the final 8, we surely couldn't go into 2019 with the same footy dept...surely not.

Been hearing for years that we need more speed, better kicks, better line breakers, etc. Then we go and out get some of these guys, and upon arrival at the Holden Centre the skills decline or worse (as some claim) are coached out of them. Obviously I hope that's not the case.

I want us to recruit guys with mental toughness, mongrel, a will to do anything to win. I'm hoping one or both of the Browns have inherited these traits from dad.

You had me until you entered bizarro world and stated that Bux would give up his second year of the extension.
Buckley has stated in years past that he would put Collingwood ahead of his ambitions. But he has had several opportunities, while we have slipped down the ladder, to do exactly that. And of course has not.
We know he has a massive ego, it’s what drove him to a Brownlow, so don’t be surprised if he needs to be sacked to prise him from the coaching role.

Players need an identity before that comes to the fore.. look back at 2010.. its like we knew the players intimately. In this side.. I have no idea who is who really.

My own view is that our list is in need of some serious repair, but I also think that the purported skills-deficit has been overblown, and that a portion of our deficiencies can be corrected under a different regime. In short, I'm thinking a partial re-build with a new coach

DE is king and apart from this loss (beaten in the middle - comfortably) our numbers are generally good, it is DE that kills us and has been for years. I agree with a partial rebuild under a new coach. The coaching panel as a whole is yet to be proven/disproven given it's infancy - however given its small sample size over the summer it seems development has not improved any. That's a red flag and have no idea on how to fix it; just changing the head coach (some sort of semblance of a game style) would give some optimism as it is change and change usually leads to change on the field.

Have we actually recruited someone with good skills? The only good kick I can think of that we've recruited recently is Daniel Wells.

I expect we will lose most games this year and bottom out and media pressure will be on our club and coach. In a desperate bid to save Ed's and Bucks reputation, as shown recently by the ludicrous reappointment of Bucks for 2 years, they will endeavor to look short term instead of a complete rebuild thus banishing us to the AFL wildness for many years. Eventually, we will be forced to do a complete rebuild under new management and coach. I don't expect anything to happen until the 2020 season when, we would be able to build a strong team around core experienced players such as De Goey, Grundy, Elliott, Treloar, Adams, Sidebottom, Moore and Howe and have a crack at the flag in 2022-3.

We seem to be the only team that cannot run the ball from defense with fluid, quick movement. Even North and Brisbane play with run and flair and a willingness to take the game on. Who would have thought-a champ like Bucks has turned us into the most dour, defensive, low skilled team in the comp.

Everything needs a complete overhaul. The coaching staff, President, recruiting staff and playing list. This has gone on long enough and we are going nowhere.
Hand the reigns over to new people, bottom out for a few years and build back up through the draft. We wasted Pendles prime which will forever disgust me.

Skill are poor against the hawks agree, but add wells, Degoey Elliot fasolo and the team gets a lot better.
I am the other way, mostly the team is there, just a few pieces missing, important ones though
