Play him in Round 1 as the scapegoat to knock out Jeremy McGovern.

Walsh may have been selected as the replacement for Jake Pasini whose form unfortunately fell away badly after his knee injury, albeit he appears to have a lot more strings to his bow than Jake ever had with his ability to play at either end of the ground, or in between if required, so it won't surprise me greatly that depending on the availability of other talls at sanfl level he plays a number of games in defence for the Maggies from day one, with the long term aim of developing him into that big, mobile key defender the club has lacked for years which resulted in the dire need to trade for Ratugolea.

He mentioned on a podcast his position of choice is in defence but doesn't mind playing forward and kicking goals.
