Reminds me of Wade Thompson.

Statistically Benny is right up there with the best couple performed SA kids in this draft. Only Draper, West (1) and Welsh played senior footy. A few others played a couple reserves games. Benny though with a 19 disposal average at SANFL reserves level, from 7 games is right up there with all of those.

To say that he's a good get as a Cat B is an understatement. Let's hope he has a great preseason and is able to really contribute at SANFL level in a big way and push for AFL selection if not in 25, at least 26.

I think Rome Burgoyne, Montgomery played Senior Footy too.

Pretty sure Phoenix Hargrave played senior footy at South as well. Didnt get drafted.

You're right. I missed him. Wonder what the knock is on him. He's played 2nd/3rd most games of a U18 in the seniors.
He was also touted as a top 15 pick in his under 17s year when he won the U18 BnF for the league and played u18s state as an underager. Is a little puzzling nobody took him even as a rookie.

According to Rookie Me he's 181cm, "not overly quick" and his field kicking and outside game needs improvement. He's good at the contest, has clean hands and can impact the scoreboard.

Benny Barrett gets a special mention, he wants to be a role model for PNG kids to play Aussie Rules.
Fantastic, he turns into a superstar and the AFL then pay his wage. That’s how it works, right?

Great news retaining Marshall for the Maggie’s too.
