How many posters thought we were a chance for bottom four at the bye, can’t think of a more deflating past month being a Freo supporter.
Was just coming to say the same thing.

With the news on Hogan today, I cant remember such an incredible fall from grace in such a small period of time.

We've gone from good shot at top 8, half a shot at top 4 to a complete rabble in what appears to be all footy departments.

Horrific month for the club

It’s pretty hard being expected to support a club that’s making bad decisions constantly.

I have absolutely no faith now that we are even remotely prepared adequately for a premiership tilt.

Chin up there.

Lyon has publicly stated that there will be no excuse for him not to have guided us to our first flag by 2020 and when has he ever been misleading?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Next season must be lining up to see us go all the way through the year undefeated, a massive win in the Granny that will be attended by Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and a freakin' unicorn. Just you wait.

That or Lyon will FO to Carlton on a long term contract and the whole promise will evaporate like Morabito's footy career.

We’ll wake up from this horrible horrible dream and go back to after the Port game when things were looking good.

It's been the worst month in a long time, combining on and off field issues.

At least when we were getting annihilated most weeks towards the end of 2016/17, we had the excuse of rebuilding.

They have a lot of injuries, but they have a lot more talent at the top as well. More depth, and more talent. Plus they haven’t played finals for a long time, 13 years since they’ve won one!
Actually they played an elimination final in 2017, but got beat by Sydney

So with all the Injuries Essendon have, look at how well they are playing.......so whats Ross Lyons excuse
We have more injuries, to more important players. Plus, it probably supports the view that experienced coaches are better so you might want to shoosh.

Out of their best 22 I'd say they had their best defender, best ruck, and best FF out, and second and third best small forwards out. Had all their best mids playing. But their cover was good enough, and their mids stepped up to help, considering how light on in defence they were after Hooker went forward.

Essendon in 2019 round 1 fielded a team with 11 x 50+ club game players. Freo had 5.
So far in 2019, Essendon have averaged 12.3 and have had a range of 11 to 14 x 50+ club game players.
Freo have averaged 6.6 with a range of 5-8.

In 2016 (drug saga topup players), Essendon had 3 wins, finished wooden spooners, averaged 4.7 x 50+ club game players and a range of 3 to 8.
In 2017, 12 wins, finished 7th, with the return of suspended players, they averaged 12.7 and a range of 12-14 x 50+ club game players, lost Eliminatiion Final with 13 x 50+ club game players (SY had 16).
In 2018, 12 wins, finished 11th, averaged 10.3, range of 8-12.

As I have previously posted, teams that have squads with high numbers of 50+ club game players will weather injuries far better than those teams still in a rebuild with very few 50+ club game players.
Statistically, in regards to my 50+ club game players numbers, Freo in 2019 (avg 6.6), look far more similar to Essendon 2016 (avg 4.7), (when they won 3 games and finished wooden spooners) than to Essendon's current 2019 team (avg 12.3).

How's Melbourne's fall from grace this year? From pre season premiership fancies to if they lose tomorrow they will be second last.

I’d be extremely disappointed if Bell isn’t planning to conduct an extensive year-end review of all departments at our club with particular focus on the medical team and associated S&C staff, sport scientists, assistant coaches and senior coach.
...and then they’ll sack the tea-lady and the boot studder.

Yep, I hear you.

We’ve been told that the club has had thorough reviews at the completion of the last three seasons at least and what have we had? An assistant coach leave and a strength and conditioning staff member leave. Oh, and we had some rower who came and then went without seemingly doing anything.

There's 6 games to go you premature ejaculators

And if we don’t start now three other clubs will have hired coaches, most if not all the good assistants will be gone and we’ll have **** chance of finding new strength and conditioning staff.

For Ross Lyon to stay I’d say we need the following in the next month:
1. Look like we’ll win ten games and/or show the last month was a blimp not part of a worrying trend where we play shite footy the second half of every year.
2. Re-sign Blakely, Tucker and few others.

If it is obvious this stuff won’t happen in two weeks time then it is time to get moving imo. Enough is enough.
