Love Christensen, but he's not above Hanley.

FWIW I think he's equal with Zorko. Both are linebreaking, goal sneering small forwards who can pitch hit in the midfield and if Squizzy can keep up his trajectory they're going to cause a massive headache for the opposition. With the addition of Green, and I think we've got the most dangerous Mozzie squad in the league.

Hanley is a very good player.
Has been in your midfield a fair bit.
I think his best as a running half back and now you have arguably the best mids in the league you can afford to play him there.
Obviously I'm a shattered Geelong supporter but a fit Christensen has the perfect inside outside game.
Injury will only stop him being elite

I think it's only starting to hit home on how much potential our midfield has. If only Brown was around to get quality service like this
It has potential to be elite and I honestly say that without a hint of bias. We already have 3 genuine A grade midfielders in Beams, Rockliff, and Hanley and several B standard who could move into that "A" bracket including Rich, Redden, Zorko and Christensen along with some quality youngsters in Mayes, Aish, and Taylor. Very exciting times lay ahead.

It's great to have so much depth to the point Mayes, Aish and Taylor are in our third bracket of mids. I would be comfortable if we were building our midfield just around those guys. All have potential to be elite. IMO Aish is the has the lowest ceiling of the three, that is pretty scary for opposition teams. You forgot blokes like N.Robertson, C.Beams, Bewick, Lester and O'Brien. Pretty damn good position to be in.

Zorko will move into primarily a midfield role next year, don't be surprised to see him start most games in the centre square, his ability to win the ball at the contest, spread and link up by hand will be a vital cog to our game plan. I would pencil him down for a 25 plus possession season. He is my sneaky at this stage for an early season bet for top 5 in the brownlow.

Zorko has put on a fair bit of muscle & is dominating the running drills...all signs are positive.

He'll be 26 at the start of the season, but it'll only be his 4th season of AFL so his best footy will likely be during 2016 - 2018 :footy:

Barring unforeseen events, I think we can put him down for 500 possessions, 100 tackles and 20 goals next season :fire:

I think Aish has a higher ceiling than Taylor. Not to say Taylor isn't a good young player but Aish just has a bit more polish class.

Too early to tell...but Taylor has that X-factor about him, whilst Aish will end up a very good solid performer across his career.

Boomer Harvey type vs Benny Cousins type

HB: Adcock Clarke Cutler
C: Rich Beams Hanley

I didn't forget them. I just don't view them as in that real high class bracket along with the other guys who are imo certain starters for our best 22. They are all quality players though and will play games next year, particularly Bewick and C.Beams who I expect to play many.

B: Maguire Merrett Adcock
HB: Gardiner Clarke Rich
C: Hanley D.Beams Aish
HF: Paparone Staker Zorko
F: Mayes Close Green
R: Leuenberger Rockliff Redden
Interchange: Martin Christensen Robinson
Sub: Taylor
Emergencies: Bewick C.Beams Harwood

Unlucky/not far off/cover for injuries: Lester, Golby, McGuane, McStay, Paine, Robertson and Cutler.

Back line: Same structure as 2014 with Merrett replacing Patfull. I would prefer to have Merrett play as a KPD, however, and utilise Goose as the "extra man/3rd tall" option in the hope that he will play as a rock in the defence and take lots of intercept marks. Expect Merrett, Goose, and Clarke to alternate between roles though depending on what the opposition structure looks like. Adcock to play as the primary small forward with Gardiner also capable of doing a job there on either a 4th tall type or a genuine small forward. Rich will play the quarter back role and take the kick ins. Expect one of Clarke, Goose or Merrett to drop out and either Harwood, Golby or Cutler to take their place when we play a team with a smaller forward set up. I expect Leppa to play all 3 in addition to Gardiner for the majority of matches, however, as he likes to play with a tall back line.

Midfield: What can I say? It is shaping up very, very nicely. D.Beams, Rockliff, Redden and Hanley will most likely be the primary movers through the centre square with Zorko, Christensen, Mayes, Aish, Taylor and Robinson all rotating through there in addition to their forward line roles. Rich will also get some midfield action. Leuenberger and Martin will rotate between the ruck, forward line and bench.

Forward line: Close and Staker will play as the KPF's with Paparone playing that 3rd tall forward role. Martin and Leuy will rotate through there and Mayes, Robinson and the Mozzies(Including new member Bundy) will cause a ruckus up there providing a fair amount of pressure and hopefully, goals.

Emergencies and back ups: Bewick, C.Beams, Harwood, Lester and McStay will all be ready to go as soon as the inevitable injuries and suspensions take place and they will all play many games next year.

Overall we now have a very exciting best 22 with an A grade midfield. I think there is a nice blend of experience and youth. The most exciting aspect of this team is the depth we now have. Players like Bewick, Harwood, Golby, and Lester were all best 22 last year and they are now just on the brink of the senior team and will no doubt be hungry to reclaim their spots in the side. I expect to see significant improvement next year and I can not wait to watch the boys smash the Pies in Round 1.

Love Christensen. But Rockliff, Redden, Beams, Hanley and Zorko are all ahead of him as midfielders. But yes, he does have the potential to become better than a couple of the boys I mentioned there. Rich behind Christensen overall as it stands.

Strongly believe Richy will have a mid season break out year(will take time to get back into the swing of things after his injury)
