Man, just so good to have Sic and Gunners back at both ends of the ground. Both were a bit rusty, but ended up showing their absolute class by the end.

Those aside, some youngsters really forming as solid pillars like CJ, Duke & Lewis. All three had rippers. Thought Reeves did really well in the middle by himself too.

Some massive games from CJ, Lewis, Duke! Gunners and sic will be huge for us this year.
Liked Ward and McDonald. Ward will be epic as his confidence grows.
Reeves and Nash did some nice things too. Pleased for DGB to have impact last qtr.
Worple, JOM, TOM still the biggest concern in the middle.

I really enjoyed that and it's going to be an up and down year. But feeling really great about the youth coming through.

Duke, CJ, Lewis and Ward woweeee!

Good win guys especially the hysteria over horne francis. Just came here to say I really like what Sam Mitchells doing with Wingard. No messing around chucking him in the midfield, put him in the position he was AA. Going to have games today where statistically doesnt do much but give him 5 mins and he can catch fire.

Good luck next week

Gatorade showers are back!

Well done boys. No illusions about the journey we're on, but jeez it's exciting!

Not the prettiest but we got the job done

Plenty of contributions from almost everyone out there

CJ great, Gunston back in the team, Ward and McDonald getting involved with some nice touches, Finn covers an enormous amount of ground too, Reeves just competing all day with almost no help

Annnd everyone in the song at the end gives us a glimpse of the new era

Frost - was excellent today.

CJ - arguably best on ground today, especially the first half.

Lewis - dominant. Exactly what we wanted.

Gunston - great return from injury. Nice foil for Lewis.

Finn - his gut running today was phenomenal. One moment he was in the forward pocket and the next he was deep in defence. He helped create multiple goals (including his own) through some real hard running.

He had some iffy kicks on his opposite though, but they were his opposite.

Newcombe - showed he can have an impact up forward which is absolutely crucial in today's game.

Moore - hard working and picked up where he left off last season. Leading marker on the field with 10, which shows just how hard he works.

MacDonald - all class and composure. Really nice debut.

Ward - did some very classy things. Helped change the game when he went into the middle.

Sicily - great return from injury. Probably our most important behavior.

Nash - started very slow but worked his way into the game and had a positive impact. Didn't look out of place.

Even when I was a "hater" I always said we should give him a crack at ruck, as he'd be able to beat his man around the ground.

Shiels - didn't want him in the side, but he played well.

Backline in general - terrific team performance. We were undersized compared to North, and they played above themselves. Great group effort all round.

Credit to DGB who was asked to play a team role, as Sicily, Scrimshaw and CJ in particular were given licence to peel off their opponents.

Negatives:
Worpel - way off the pace in every regard. Had one nice kick though (but did he mean it?). Not a good start.

JOM - had no impact up forward but at least did some hard team thing in the middle in the second half.
