Newcombe looks like he’s covering the ground a lot better than last year. As evidenced by how good he was in the second half of the game. His kicking skills has certainly improved too.

Fun to get a win at the G.

CJ is a star. Full season and he can be All Australian. Still want to see him with some wing and midfield minutes. He’s such a dynamic player.

Lewis and Gunston combined very well. Opposition lousy obviously but the forward set up was good. Moore is a very good player

Newcombe excellent, Nash did his bash and crash job.

Midfield a concern though. O’Meara and Worpel were terrible. They can’t be trusted with the ball.

Really need to get Day into this side and with ball in hand. Hopefully Mitchell intends to get him on the ball or in position to deliver ball inside 50 because many of our midfielders are really poor at that

Feel like MacDonald had a better game and Ward did some equally nice things, especially under pressure. Three future guns of the competition.

Do we think we're going to go with that forward set-up for much of this year, Lewis and Gunner as keys? Or will it depend on the defence we play, I'd still like to see Kosi back in for a 'twin towers' type of set-up.

Wrapt for the guys and Mitch .

Scrappy game but you can see what we are trying to do , at times we looked good in the second half .

Love the Gunston/Lewis combo
Draftees look at home , very happy for Ward to stay under the radar too
CJ brilliant as was Sic , add Day and Bramble and we have one hell of a back half rebounding game

Lots to like , lots to improve on . Big test next week to say the least

A real mixed bag of lollies today.....

Midfield core unit of Mitchell, JOM and Worps still a huge concern.

But backline is looking really good (CJ could be anything and Sicily is an absolute ) and a forward combo of Lewis, Gunston, Moore and Bruest is actually not half bad.

Skills and polish still uneven but liking the attacking mindset.

All in all if I see that from the boys every week I will be well pleased with the season regardless of where we finish (gotta fix that midfield dynamic though).
