Just happy to get the four points, and we've been happy to do that over a long long period of time with every player getting a lick of the ice cream, (covid notwithstanding).

The Tsatas cup.
Maybe our first step to securing him.
To soon to tank?

Mods - can we get a card for genuine tanking suggestion rule up in here?

I’ve been bullish during our pre season and still think we have one of the best lists we’ve had in awhile but think we are going to really struggle to put it together for a bit. Until we can get our best side on the park and gelling together I can’t see us winning too many early, maybe in the back end of the year. Sincerely hope I’m wrong and I often am !

McEvoy to start and play 60-70% game time in the ruck and whichever of Reeves/Lynch gets picked will relieve him when he needs a spell.

Anyone who thinks McEvoy will play permanent forward/back or 2nd string ruck allowing the kids to get hammered by Goldstein is delusional.

Lol
McEvoy will give the ruck a rest, Reeves or Lynch.

Goldy won't play alot of ruck either, he'll probs 50/50 it with Xerri or split it well with him.

Unlike his usual 90%.

Reeves or Lynch will play alot of ruck.

Reading the last 2 pages, are we bracing ourselves for a defeat against Norf by saying we are tanking?
Ye gads.
We will win comfortably, and ive got got us at winning under 39 at $2.25. Money for jam

We spank them - second half at the G, we run all over the top of them.

I will be interested in Sam's & Asst coaches game plan when we are 5-6 goals ahead.
Do we still keep attack OR protect the lead.
I guess it will say a lot about his style and expectations.
I have a feeling returning to the chip chip around to protect the lead might be gone.
At least i hope so.
With tired legs at the start of the season and ordinary kicks to begin with you just hope coaches say move it quick and get it in quick to the forwards.
What this team is lacking is some swagger and belief.
I think if Ward can shark a few that results in goals early...well we are on our way.
On the G and watching our future leaders blitz it will make all the players walk a little taller.
Mitchell has 50 disposals and for some reason we still lack swagger and belief.
I find this one area in our team is quite worrying.
Winguard has swagger & belief in himself.
I hope he can really have a break out season. He does look to umpires for the free a lot a really bad habit in a senior player.
I hope Sam can get this out of his game.

Gonna be hard without Day, CJ, impey and Bramble to run over the top of them I reckon. Frosty should have a license to just run.
Reckon CJ plays. Bramble a big loss for sure. Just think we have too many endurance machines and have been coming on strong in the second halves of games. North are a pretty ploddy side. Some good players but don't rate them at the G

Just did a quick search and I couldn't find an MCG win since 2017 in May against Melbourne.

I am not sure you have been keeping up the last couple of years but whenever BB goes into the ruck he gets slaughtered.

You may be right about Reeves/Lynch getting hammered by Goldstein but IMO he would hammer BB even more.

BB is cooked IMO.

Probably getting way ahead of ourselves in imagining us being 5-6 goals up in a game - but I hope you are right. Last year against Richmond and Brisbane we had strong leads late and Richmond brought us back to a draw and the Lions came close to running us down also. I still have PTSD about that ****ing Bulldogs game in 2019 where we let a 30 point lead 7 minutes into the final term turn into a 19 point loss. I really hate sides that put up the shutters when they put up a sizable not not insurmountable lead - you just don't let an opposition any chance to get back into the contest.

I hope Sam, if in the position, enjoys to stand on the throats of opposition.
