You can accuse Nicks of many things, but he's genuinely tried to get games into young players, and give kids opportunities.
He really hasn’t had much choice given our list, but let’s not forget he kept Worrell in the seconds for most of the year and played an injured Doedee since round 5 and he brought back Crouch to replace McAdam which was clearly idiotic.

Apart from Worrell.

Our refusal to play him (even picking Davis over him several times) was a real head scratcher.
"Several times" is a bit of a stretch, though grammatically correct.

Last year, Davis

In 2022, Davis played in rd 17 as the sub (0% game time), the only time he was selected by Worrell wasn't

In 2021, Davis played 3 games Worrell didn't, rd 21 (Sub), 22* and 23.

Yes, we'd have liked Worrell to get more games, and I wouldn't have played Davis at all, but that wasn't the issue.

on paper it actually looks quite good but its very very young still

Murphy has been dropped in the past. With Rachelle, Rankine and Sloane to come in, I reckon he and McAdam are most at risk. Everyone else will be waiting for injuries or a fellow junior player to have a couple of down weeks.

love how Bicks laughs at this. So tell me Mutineer, who from our round 22 this year will miss out if rachelle, Rankine and Sloane are fit to play? Or don't you think all those 3 are first choice 22. Don't worry though, I don't expect you to answer.

Sloane, Talia, Brown, Lynch 2020 Tex, Keays last half both years. And they're only the ones we know about because they were either so obvious or went really sideways. Plus add in crouch to replace McAdam and I'd be surprised if I stopped to think that I wouldn't come up with more.

Wouldn’t surprise if Bond goes straight past Jones into that back pocket - good chance of a round 1 debut

Thanks for that, love the effort for compiling them.:thumbsu:

Not entirely convinced Sloane will play, just purely based on not being 100% over his ACL given the usual recovery rate being ~ 12 months + a run in the reserves.

Some really tough decisions coming up for the Crows in regards to getting an elite mid into our team. Will be interesting if one is available via trading and if we would trade out our 2023 1st rounder for him?

This is the year we really need to be getting games into an injury free Pedlar & Taylor... along with Schoenberg pulling his finger out... along with continued development of Soligo & Berry.... along with stints by Rankine & Rachele in the midfield.

We should be looking to target a gun midfielder via a trade or FA to top up lioe we have the last 2 years... & Sydney's 1st round bid on MM ensures this is possible.

Well, we know who will be calling this game on Fox Kelli Underwood. But would be a great kick off if it was like round 7 of 2013 at Giants stadium GWS 7,10 (52) Crows 29.13 (187)

Wow, we get an underwhelming opponent and then just for good measure they play it at their home ground. Still they might get 11 or 12 thousand for a round 1-er I suppose.

Only bright side is we might be a chance for a win.

Unless we are genuine top 4 contender being a non-Victorian, we aren't going to get the blockbuster timeslots. The big VIC clubs get more than their fair share of those spots but although I do really enjoy watching us in big game timeslots Thurs, Fri or Sat night primetime watching us win and/or give the game our all is far more important.

WA clubs generally get less primetime spots also. No different to the A-League Victory get more than their fair share of Sat free to air TV primetime games.

My least favourite timeslot is last game of the round on Sunday probably followed by the lunchtime timeslot. As for this game R1 hopefully we can start with the 4 points.
