Nope
Coaches at AFC are generally twelve months behind bigfooty.Liking a lot of the teams and the robust discussion. Some real left field thinking - everyone has Dawson on a wing and McHenry left right out!
Will Nicks be able to follow our lead?

You need worrell as well my point was murphy mchenry are furthest from the 22 and shouldn't be given any more games no matter what
I'm not even sure he won't pick Crouch.
What messaging are they telling Crouch this preseason? Bust a gut and you’re a chance or sorry mate your depth, I hope we aren’t giving him false hope.Learnings are often forgotten over a preseason. Won't be surprised to see Laird, Sloane and Crouch at 2023 opening bounce.
Crouch won't be played again. I doubt Sloane stays injury free all year. I would play him in defence at SANFL level. What messaging are they telling Crouch this preseason? Bust a gut and you’re a chance or sorry mate your depth, I hope we aren’t giving him false hope.
As for Sloane, he’s going to be a burden
Surely you are taking the piss with this one. Laird and Berry are our two best mids. If they aren't in there at centre bounce Nick's is signing his dismissal by round 11. Laird, Bezz, Soligo, Schoenberg is our best midfield with Rankine, Pedlar, Rachele, Keays, Taylor pinch hitting through there.Learnings are often forgotten over a preseason. Berry is the best tackler in the AFL (number 1 for tackles) and is our 2nd best mid. Keays may be in there with him and Laird but I can't see Sloane getting anywhere near the midfield. He has no pace and can't turn anymore like Thommo in his final year. I don't think Sloane will play more than 8-10 games in the AFL. Soligo should cement his his spot as our 2nd or 3rd best mid this year imo.A little bit of piss. Keays will be at the opening bounce with Sloane and Laird, Crouch is actually unlikely to be in the 22. But it won't be surprising if he is.
I wish they were twelve months in front. Cue Blighty.Coaches at AFC are generally twelve months behind bigfooty.
so Sholl not in your first 35 then.Round 1 team update. Probably the same as my previous team.
Parnell Butts Doedee
Hamill/Milera Murray Smith
Worrell Laird Dawson
Rankine Walker Pedlar
Rachele Fogarty McAdam
Thilthorpe Berry Soligo
Schoenberg Strachan/ROB Keays Nankervis/Taylor
Depth:
Jones, Murphy, Cook, Sloane, Hinge, McHenry, Dowling, Himmelberg, Gollant, Michalanney.
There's no way they are playing Worrell in a key position backman role, he would be destroyed. Btw I think he's a fantastic potential talent as a intercepting rebounder but he isn't a KPD. Murray will be locked in for 22 rounds barring injury imo. Our major weakness (along with our midfield) is KPD. If Murray or Butts go down we are in serious trouble. Next man up is likely Borlase or we go with an undersized Doedee or Worrell and we know how that plays out at least with Doedee and likely the same with Worrell. The other option is to shift McAsey from forward to back but I don't even think he is at the club. The other option is to play Himmelberg down back but he's a forward. The manor concern with Borlase is his lack of pace which may be exposed moreso at AFL level.Latest attempt
McAsey left right out as dont think he will be back

No, I would have traded tbh but I don't think there was any takers. He's simply too soft, you just can't have that onfield. It's a cancer.so Sholl not in your first 35 then.
All evidence so far is the Butts and Murray combo is a long way from finals standard. I'm not convinced it ever will be.There's no way they are playing Worrell in a key position backman role, he would be destroyed. Borlase has more issues than just lack of pace based on sanfl finals outings where he was poorThere's no way they are playing Worrell in a key position backman role, he would be destroyed. Worrell replaces Dawson which fress Dawson up to play wing where he is a lot more damaging. I don't think Doedee had a good year in 2022, he looked to be injured and often was playing against KPD's which didn't end well. Whilst I'm not a big fan of Butts and to a lesser Murray, unfortunately they are all we have as KPD's. The club has not done a good job in drafting and recruitment in this area.Defensively they are fine IMO. However attack is the best form of defense.
Coaching staff need to realize if we play Murray and Butts - we need to surround them with attacking defenders. Last year we looked terrible moving the ball with Parnell/Brown, Jones, Doedee, Butts, Murray, Smith as our back 6.
The games we won against anyone not named West Coast/North Melbourne were in Rd 3 against Port, Rd 20 against Carlton, Rd 5 Against Richmond and Rd 6 against the bulldogs and they all had one thing in common:
We didn't have a combination of Doedee, Butts, Murray.
Rd 3 - Big Bad Billy - 16 touches, 373 meters gained, 5 Rebound 50's., 4 score involvements
Rd 5 - Big Bad Billy - 17 touches, 535 metres gained, 6 rebound 50's, 2 score involvements
Rd 6 - Big Bad Billy - 26 touches, 502 metres gained, 7 rebound 50's, 4 Score Involvements
Rd 20 - Worrell - 17 touches, 447 mètres gained, 4 rebound 50's, 2 Score involvements.
Average - 19 disposals for 464 metres gained, 7 rebound 50's, 3 Score involvements.
For reference here is what our dour big 3 average per game:
Murray - 7.9 touches a game, 160 metres gained, 2.5 rebound 50's, .8 Score involvements
Butts - 9.5 touches a game, 135 metres gained, 2 rebound 50's, .9 Score involvements
Doedee - 16 touches a game,228 metres gained, 3.1 rebound 50's per game, 1.7 score involvements.
You add up 3 players and they are touching the ball 33 times for 523 metres gained, 7.6 rebound 50's and 3.4 score involvements.
Further to this - Murray/Doedee/Butts played in the same team 11 times this year. Those 11 games we went 2 wins - 9 losses and averaged 75 points a game.
Games where one of the dour three missed - we went 6 wins and 5 losses and averaged 83 points per game.
Many on here stating we can play the dour 3 and Worrell. I just worry thats not the case. Too many are looking at the individual and not how the collective works.
