Simpson hasn't drawn a line in the sand for years, he won't do it this year either. What a disgrace this club has become

Credits in the bank are replenished each year and need to be run down until round 23… they are then restocked and at full credit value for the following season..

It could have been worse, we could have taken Ginbey at Pick 2 as the recruiting team rated him 🙃
Or you could wait more than 1 season and 1 game, against one of the best midfielders in the comp, before you start potting players.

Bailey leading us in clearances, leads everyone for inside 50s, third most metres gained (behind Burton and Hunt). Bobbed up with a goal.

Love the boy, give him a partner and we’re in business with him.

I don’t get what the coach is trying to achieve here. We lack pace in key areas because he’s playing players without pace in them.

Then Harley starts well and he takes him off and then inserts him in a different position.

Then plays the second quarter with him outside the middle (most of the time).

I just don’t get the plan? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I tell you what having Gaff on one wing and Edwards on the other is inspired stuff. Has to be the slowest pair of wings of all time.

Some tough calls need to be made. The selection committee can be forgiven for making choices based on preseason training form for round 1. Edwards I have no idea what he's in this round. I would've preferred Hunt up to the wing and JJ in the backline. Gaff - someone needs to grow a spine and give him a bit of a break. He kept getting a run last year out of necessity. His performance today warrants a dropping.

Gaff has had 3 disposals to half time. Shouldn't be playing next week if the numbers continue in the same trajectory for the rest of the match.

You're right though - shouldn't have slow players on the wing.

There are just so many nothing senior players running around.
Gaff.
Darling.
Duggan. I've been waiting for his elite disposal since 2015.
Cole.
Witherden.
Petruccelle. Though he did 1 nice thing so he is safe for 5 weeks. And he has speed of course speed speed. Speed is more important than footy ability. But he had a couple of nice moments. Year 7 on the list and he is praised for nice moments.

What did you expect ? Senior players are average kids not good enough yet

Give it a few years and we will be okay
Expect effort consistently from all players. Barrass plays like he doesn't give a ****. Same could be said for Darling and Gaff.

Trying hard, but unable to stop Port's ball movement on transition.

-10 contested possessions and -5 clearances that quarter allowed Port to dominate territory as well and put their forward game in action.

Spending a lot of time chasing and defending, and it is catching up at the end of quarters with fatigued efforts conceding late goals.

Nowhere near enough pace available on the outside of stoppage to effect the spread. Our wings may as well be absent.

Yep daylight between Ginbey and Reid..
Aren't Barrass's days numbered, plays with a bad back, through pain...
The chasing and defending is a gasser!

Petch has kicked 2 goals and is playing forward, where the ball has barely been for the 2nd quarter.

Gaff, Darling, Duggan and Cole have been pretty trash.

Not sure why Petch keeps getting lumped in with players actually having a negative impact, when he's made the most of limited chances.

The first half will probably sum up our year, much better than 2022/23 but still not very good.

I think we will transition as young guys are fit and prepared. Hall is on we should see soon. Hewett but only when fit and ready. Next is Ryan.

My concern is Allen and Barrass getting towelled up. Darling needs an injection but he is older and on the way out so a different case.
