Hehe that's true, I'm running both of them too so I'm with you, but I think Gawn should do ok, and funnily enough resting forward might actually help him get more points.

Haha was just thinking the same thing... forward almost looks like where the points are!
Such ping pong gameplay it seems to just bounce one end to the other.
But then we aren't paying almost a million dollars for a forward are we.

Yeah in that regard I've got no issues holding Grundy and see that through.

My issue is I'm currently running Gawndy combo.

Does Grundy having a mare forecast how Gawn will go?
The gameplay definetely didn't help grundy. But Grundy definetely didn't do as Grundy does tonight.

Lots to ponder.. Grundy/Flynn... Grundy witts... Grundy/gawn 🤔
Cheap rucks this year and invest elsewhere. Called it a month back!

Yeah but I'd rather be in this position and be able to downgrade Gawndy if needed than have Flynn and Meek and be scrambling for cash to get 180 averaging rucks.

people with JDG...what do we do with this spud? He'll be like 580k. Do we try to upgrade him to Dusty/Dunks by downgrading a failed midpricer?
I'm seriously considering removing Caldwell from my team and if he goes 80+ it is a straight swap from the crim to Caldwell.

Not talking running Flynn/Meek. Just not paying up for any of the big 3 which are well over priced to start.

Starting them and losing $$ just to then burn trades downgrading them is probably the worst thing I’ve heard.

I'm using Fantasia down back, to bring in Zilliams for him next week. Was always a one week proposition, and I'm just not interested in watching him tbh. That's why I'm a little ticked off, but nothing major - given it's annoying but he's not some 'failed premium', that forces me to rethink my strategy.

But still, f*ck De Goey

Honestly De Goey was fine in the first half, had mid minutes and looked good. Then Bucks drags him to the forward half for the 2nd half where he was no impact.

Useless coaching.

Which was always the obvious problem with him. They have no fwds, he's their best by a mile.

Useless coaching on my behalf for falling for it

Was thinking about this earlier, whose midfield do you guys think is stronger (in full flight)?

Bont, Macrae, Dunkley, Treloar, B. Smith, Libba, Hunter and Lipinksi

vs

Danger, Duncan, Guthrie, Selwood, Menegola, I. Smith, Parfitt and Clark

I'd probably give the Dogs the nod slightly, but I'll tell you what, it's pretty close on pure talent, tbh

Just on age profile have to give it to the dogs. Younger and can run all day.
Itll be a great match up and one to look forward too that's for sure!

I’ll be doing the same. Easy move

Edit: Selby also started him.. that’s got to make us feel a bit better

Sorry gotta disagree. Much easier to downgrade Grundy/Gawn than it is to find the cash to upgrade to them if they start well. And again, Grundy got an 89. Not like it was a 50.

Given Selwood and Smith are aging and Gola is a little one dimensional I would give it to the dogs reasonably comfortably. HOWEVER if Clark can go bang this year and Parfitt continues on an upward curve then that will go a long way to closing the gap again

Is it any surprise that I have Fantasia in the fwd line? Literally probably the only human that does

Agree to disagree I guess. IMO there’s so much wrong with burning trades to downgrade them then inevitably using more trades later to get them back. Just easier to get them once they’ve dropped.

Panicked last minute and went for the rookie R2 strat (Grundy R1) in order to bring in De Goey for a rook. F*ck you FOMO!

But also panicked on missing out on Daniel going ham on Collingwood's shambles of a forward line and traded him in for Stewart (considering Stewart may not even see the ball tomorrow). Wasn't looking good early but he repaid the faith with some serious junk in the last quarter.

Also had Macrae and Dunkley, so over all a good night.

6/594

Lucky I have a bit of cash saved. Early rage trade looking like;
De Goey > ZWilliams via Dunks forward & Clark to the mids.

Who do you have in your backline? I can't seem to find any other players that could do well in defence, but there are a heap of forwards putting their hands up.

its the Dogs ahead, but as we saw last year - Danger wins more games on his own than any of the Dogs mids do....

Considering it, but not sure whether it’s worth it.

Who would you take? Downie/Bergman if not named?

Probably Downie but then again he's going to be the emergency sub so can't do it. If Bergman doesn't play Sunday then you'd assume he's unlikely to come in any time soon. Starting to think I won't do it, I have Scott and say he's dropped plus a donut and I'm already 2 down on the bench, just gotta hope Merrett goes 110+.
