Nank with 55 and Mr.Worldwide with 66. I don't want to touch Grundy or Gawn now. They could both score 80 odd.
Grundy will be a better test of this tomorrow. Worldwide probably scored what you'd expect from him, Nank was poor.

Either way solid enough start for me. 185/2 (Short, Doch). Glad I got rid of Dow prior to lockout

Sat back and watched tonight and was quite happy not having anybody playing as it turned out. Did have some thoughts as a neutral on a few of the players involved:

Walsh - looked a shoo-in for a hundred early and still would have comfortably gone over 105 if not for 4 FAs. Should still be a really good pick.

Short - jury still out. One monster quarter surrounded by two average ones and an awful one. Got to 90-something which is pretty normal for him based on past scoring. Will definitely have a few big days when he’s allowed to do what he wants.

Dow - 65 looks his absolute ceiling, which is enough if he keeps producing it but you would think there’ll be a 40 incoming soon and he was so bad from a pure footy perspective that I’m not even convinced he doesn’t get dropped.

Doch - huge comeback. Might see some cheap points late in games when the sting goes out of them but geez his style looked a little slow and outdated in the first half.

Dusty - do any serious coaches have him, or is his 39% ownership mostly casuals who just like a big name? Haven’t seen many owners on this board at all. In any case, he rewarded them handsomely with 131 and if anything that score doesn’t even do his game justice. Looked unstoppable

The rucks were both awful but I think that’s less to do with style and more to do with them just being average players as FlowersByIrene said above

I'm happy enough with that 64 from Dow

He was only ever in for cash generation and in a few weeks time he'll be gone

As mentioned above, not overly confident about his JS and role next week with Williams back. I think he's safe but. At least he won't be going up against the reigning premiers next week so hopefully he can improve upon this week's score

Yeah Dusty was in and out of my team and finally put him back in at the last minute, swayed by the maximum hype of how good his pre season has been and his renewed hunger for the game

Considering Dusty normally scores about 65 v Carlton first up, this is a very good sign.

My one regret is not picking Williams and shelving him for the week

Just watched the replay and without the live stats in front of me, it's always fun to compare what I thought I saw with what actually happened. Dusty and Walsh were the clear standouts to me—was a little surprised that Dusty scored so highly though, and perhaps even more surprised that Walsh didn't also reach those heights. Dow I barely noticed, Doch was about what I expected—I don't have him but it's not because I didn't like him as an option—and Saad scored more than I expected or saw. Cripps about what I'd expect; I think he actually both relishes and realises it's important for him not to be the team's best player on most nights...he wants to make his teammates better. So I think these kind of scores will continue to be about the mean.

Yeah haven't considered Cripps once. He's just not made for fantasy

Happy with that

3 90's and a big daddy 100 from Dusty... Now do i take a 0 to take the vc? Surely not?

You couldn't take a non-playing rookie so just get the williams trade out of the way now and free up your Monday to fix someone else 😅

I'm sure it's the wrong play to make but I wish I was in a position to make that mistake, congrats on starting Dusty 👍

Where are you getting that from, lol? Dusty always has a monster score against Carlton - that's why I try not to pick him, as it sucks you in. Will be interesting to see how he goes next week, as he did not play that much midfield (looked 50/50 for mine)

These are his past 5 years:

2021 - 131
2020 - 108 (adjusted)
2019 - 81, but still had 30 disposals (most of them handballs)
2018 - 110
2017 - 139

Loves getting back into it after the off-season, but then relaxes once things get back to normal. Had him in a lot of the pre-season, but ultimately decided that Brodie and Hind would better than him and a rook overall. Phenomenal game tonight, but not unexpected

My memory must be failing me in my old age

I could have sworn he always spuds up to start the year. Maybe it's the game after Carlton. But thanks for the correction

The other thing with Walsh was that he missed out on a few frees (got his head nearly removed at one stage and got nothing) and missed a few points from tackles that, let's say Macrae would have got. Didn't quite reach the heights I hoped for - but think he was robbed of about 10 - 15 points he should have got, before the FA's were taken into account...

My view ....Dusty always goes big in this game, history shows that .....but he falls back asleep in the weeks after

Carlton looked, shall I say, less conditioned than RICH .....a lot of CARL boys really struggled in that last qtr to run the game out

Doch was notibly stuffed, Dow interestingly only had 69% TOG

Cripps, well he tried to play a different style last night .....attract the tackler / tacklers, and dish off to a free man .....kinda worked, disposal was iffy ....but if he's going to play the season in that manner, his body won't get to the byes

Ah yes, I’d forgotten about that free kick they didn’t pay. Was staggered they missed that. Also one of his frees against on the wing arguably should have been a free for. Easily could have been a 110 night

JDG, Wines and Stewart

Vs

Rowell, Macrae, Daniel

Walsh and Dow so far.. both slightly unders but not disasters. Dow is horrible.. i just hope it takes Teague at least 5-6 weeks to work that out.

Interesting that other than Dusty.. no tons for relevant fantasy players, but sometimes Richmond games are somewhat different from alot of the others given the different style they play. Doesnt allow many stoppages and was certainly pinging more than normal last night. No one had more than 5 tackles. Tonights game will be a bigger indication of style i think - Also Grundy can hopefully give us a better idea about Ruck prospects
