Was very confident 2 weeks ago knowing Walsh and Williams were out. Now it seems there’s every chance from our best ‘25’ we may well be missing:

Tarrant
Prestia
Short
Pickett
Ross
Gibcus
Graham
Sonsie

Not all guns by any stretch, but it really tests your depth.

Prestia will play, pickett will probably play, Ross, sonsie and Graham will likely be available but fully fit only one maybe two of them gets a spot anyway. Only one of gibcus and tarrant would play if both were fit too. We'll probably be missing 2 or 3 players and no ine that's not replaceable. Settle down.

Two issues in 2022: kicking points from the goal square and defensive transition brain fades. First issue Costagna retirement assists with, however Shai hasn't had a shot yet, so not sure we've resolved that one. Second issue, based on the Melb game, we are in big trouble with. Having said that Carlton look to have lost a gear.

If we can win by three or four (goals) ATM, it will be a very good performance. At our best they are not in our league, just don't think we are likely to show it yet.

I honestly have no idea who will win this game. Whenever you play Carlton without Walsh, you should really expect to win IMO. On paper I think we look the better side. But sometimes when a team looks better "on paper" in Round 1, you are seeing it written on yesterdays paper.

I'm not worried about missing one or two players. We will be fine.

More worried about Soldo being potentially locked into that second ruck spot. We saw all last season it didn't work then suddenly this preseason we shifted back to an archaic structure. The 2nd ruck has to be someone who can impact up forward.

No Soldo and we win.

Mansell in the huddle with our main forwards is interesting, especially given Cumbo didn’t train today

Might be a Smokey for round 1 0A18D326-63DD-4F4E-88B0-3CF63A25288B.jpeg
