Going to this match and very much looking forward to it. Cricket, NAB Cup, and summer are great but nothing compares walking into the G with the smell of pies, hotdogs, cigarette smoke for the first time... full of optimism for Round 1.

I don't think we'll win but it's imperative that we put up a competitive performance. Round 1 2008 was a disaster and really deflated the majority of Demon fans. But this time last year we were OK against North and it lead to a pretty competitive first half of 2009.

Hopefully Trengove and Scully can get a few kicks...

yes agree 100% he is he was a shocker all last year i thought he would not get the 09 gig in the gf if he did then the afl would have been very blind !

A win would be great but highly unlikely. Hoping we put up a fight and are at least still in with a chance to win by 1/2 - 3/4 time. Too often in the last few years we get blown out early to be 10 goals down at halftime and pick up some cheap goals at the end to make it look respectable. Hoping this doesn't happen again, and Scully and Trengove (and Strauss) tear it up!

Anyone else just recently get their membership, and have to print out a matchday ticket, only to find that it needs printing before 7am today. So now, rather than getting in the ground on time, you have to line up for what might be a while (at least according to the email I got) to get one from the Dees tent outside gate 3.

Why it needs to be printed before 7am today is beyond me...
