Should be a good match. Brisbane are on fire and our kids are getting some confidence so it'll good to have a proper challenge for them to tackle today.

Two games in a row to have that excitement of a new player!

Hope the best for Payne :) Also I hope Charles has a good match, the amount of pressure on his specific performance after lat years games will be hyped but I reckon we are more dynamic now and can hurt them from so many more avenues.

For some reason am feeling we may have a late out.. hope not. Looking forward to it!

Go Lions!

Should be a cracking match. Both teams will feel they are vulnerable. Tigers missing key players and we are missing some key players and coming off 4 day break and 48 hours less rest.

I really thought we might have rested key players tonight. I desperately want to beat these campaigners but I more worried about injuries. Im hoping the shorter quarters are helping with players recoveries.

We need to win contested ball and get on top in the middle. Although apparently Neale is just a disposal collector and does nothing with the ball if you read the Tigers posters. Clearly they haven't watched him much this year or at all.

Be interesting to see if Tigers put Grimes on Charlie again. That would mean if we have 3 talls up forward they might be stretched.

Excited to see Jack Payne get a game.

When Dusty goes forward get Gardiner to match up on him. Mind you won't matter who is on him if its one on one wrestle - either Dusty marks it or umps pay him a free kick.

Last year when Adams played it looked good for us. Dusty couldn't out wrestle the man mountain.

Hope Payne gets a chance vs Dusty at some point. We might learn something.

From Jivlain inexperience watch thread.

I don’t really think that Richmond have any excuses on the experience or age front. But I know if they lose, that’s all the Media will talk about.

  • Average games played - Richmond 84.8 vs. Brisbane 73.5 (+11.3 games)
  • Average age - Richmond 25.3 vs. Brisbane 24.3 (+1 years)

Richmond have a lot more to lose than we do.

I'm confident that Charlie will have a very good game tonight, he will get up the field and onto the wing a lot more, Charlie is an exceptional kick so I'm expecting a few lace out passes to leading forwards, if Grimes wants to go with him that would be good for us.

I've seen a bit of Payne live and I think those that haven't will be surprised at his pace for a big man and his kicking is good, hopefully he adjusts quickly to the increased intensity.

I wouldn't be surprised if Big O is a late out, it looked like he got hurt in a marking contest in the 4th quarter v Essendon, fell awkwardly and almost looked concussed when he got up, spent more than usual time on the bench late in the game, hopefully it was just a much needed rest. Matty Eagles will be like a man possessed if he gets a run, wont let us down.

Talk about a big game. We win. We go 3 games in front. We lose. We are 1 game away from being overtaken by the tiges on the ladder. Yes I know technically its 2.5 games in front and .5 games behind. But 3 games in front in this shortened fixture might be a big difference between 4th and 5th.

I have a horrible feeling we are going to be tired and sore before the game is over..

..obviously I hope I'm proven wrong.

Lets go boys, smash these big heads and show them they can't just roll in and push us around.

:brisbane:The Kings of the Jungle are back!:brisbane:

I don't think it's a horrible feeling, but a realistic feeling that Richmond are much more rested than us.

I just hope people keep their expectations and emotions in check if we lose.

Also surprised robbo wasn’t rested. He looked more knackered than usual.... I dunno maybe it was the throwing of the mouth guard.

Really excited to see Payne!!

Honestly just hope to stay competitive and keep our backline structure because I feel we will get hurt on the rebound.

Go the mighty lions show em ur stuff!!!

I'm not expecting a win tonight, coming off such a short break. Still I think the boys will be competitive, and I'm excited to see Payne. I imagine Robbo and maybe some others will be rested against the Bulldogs, we need a pretty good team to beat the Tigers though.

Fatigue shouldn’t be as big an issue as technically only played 3 and a bit quarters of footy on Friday. Also no excuses for answorth , Witherdon , ballandeen, skinner or Paine to be fatigued . 5 fresh players could be helpful.

Man it's weird to see a game day thread pop up on a Tuesday.

I'm hoping for a competitive game. 4 days to not just recover but prepare to play against a new team is a huge ask. They've had the benefit of two more days of recovery and a chance to study our game plan as we played.

And hoping Jack brings the Payne in his debut (har har har best pun ever).
