Round 11 trades

Can someone confirm that only 18 players scores are used this week? I'm being lazy, cbf answering my own question :p. I have 4 donuts this week so it will work out perfectly.

Yep, but they all have to be amongst the 22 on the field. So you cannot have three rucks count towards your score.

Just want to confirm. For example sake, I have 18 players playing and 9 are midfielders. Will my emergency in the mids be counted towards the top 18? Or is the top 18 only from players on the field?

*EDIT: Already answered, thanks.

my plan is to trade two premium players (RD 11 BYE/have gone down in overall price) to any other player i want. then for RD 12, literally swap them back to the players i originally had with the RD 11 bye. no focus on downgrades. is anyone else doing something like this?
example:
mitchell --> swallow
rockliff --> ball/pendles
rd 12
swallow --> mitchell
ball/pendles --> rockliff

Don't do it.. wasting trades which could be used for downgrades/upgrades, getting you closer to a complete team.
Might give you 50odd more points, but it'll hurt in the long term.

but there aren't any good downgrade options this week. i might end up doing the premium --> premium trades this week and try bringing in hrovat next week. i honestly don't know what else i could possibly do when i look at my team

Still holding on to Tom Lee - do you guys think hes likely to see any more games / worth keeping or should I be moving him on while covering byes

Viney (yes, I know) to Kyle Martin
Dwyer to Burbury
$400k in the bank to complete my team with

Martin will get a price rise before his bye so I will need to get him in at some point soon. Why not this week? Hrovat and Mitchell will have a bye before their price rise so I can leave them for another week.

Hopefully my bench rookies are named this week. Could be looking at 1 donut otherwise.

At this stage (as always, pending team selection)- Pure cash generation

Pittard> T. Menzel (creates another handy DPP link)

Evans> T. Mitchell (Perhaps a bit early but want to upgrade in coming rounds)

Silly move to trade Scotland out? The guy has been so annoying to have the last couple of weeks.
im trading him to Heppell this week. Ive watched 3 of his games and he is very lazy. Doesnt hunt his own ball, or run hard into space to provide an option. Just sits off the pack and hopes to get cheap possesions. When his opponent stands next to him, he has virtually no chance of getting a touch.

Looking at Whitfield to Mitchell and Rowe to Menzel this week, giving me 300k to get my act together and hopefully lift my ranking a bit after the byes. Rnd 12 will go Lecras to a Round 11 bye fwd and Murphy > DPP mid giving me some cover.

Forgetting byes, who should I trade out first

Wines OR Moloney

(money not an issue)
In most cases I'd trade out Wines first but it depends on how long you are planning to keep the one you don't trade out for. If you intend to keep 1 of Moloney/Wines for a while then definitely trade out Wines first as Moloney will average much higher long term. If you intend to trade both of them soon then you should consider trading Moloney first since his injury affected score will see his price drop more than Wines' price for the next couple weeks after his bye.

Would it be wrong to post a screen capture of my team and ask for advice! I'm totally lost at this point - first ever bye round. Not sure what to do! Don't want to leave a shitty 18 for myself

If you do this I'll be happy to give you some advice. I can't assure you that it will be good advice though, I've made some pretty poor trades this year :p

In fairness to Scotland he has been an outside player his whole career so him not winning many contested possessions is nothing new and not really concerning. If he isn't working hard into space on the wings to get the cheap +6 combos, swooping round the back of packs to get the handball receive or working hard to provide an option on the switch then that is a real issue.

Scotland -> Heppell is a very solid trade, Heppell is looking like one of the most reliable backs this year.

Sam Mitchell --> Stanton
Rockliff --> Luke Ball
will look at downgrading next week (rowe --> grimley most likely)

Been plotting for a few weeks now on best way to navigate with minimum carnage, continuing to improve team and maximising overall outcome. Delicate balancing act and despite being good in theory no doubt donuts will occur, just a case of minimising.

20 potentials this week with 5 in doubt (Thurlow, Dwyer, Crouch, Swan and Heppell)

21 potentials Rd 12

17 potentials Rd 13 (to rectify through trading)

My major concern is 6 premium mids and 3 premium backs with Rd 13 bye. This means if every other back and mid plays I am still 5 positions down so 1 will need to be sideways traded after byes commence. I knew this when I traded last week but felt almost certain that 1 of the 9 will miss Rd 11/12, hence to opportunity will be taken at the time. Already Swan and Heppell in doubt this week.

Anyway, teams permitting the aim this week is to double down and get ahead of the bell curve going in so wiggle room exists to upgrade even if copping an injury. This allows byes to be danced through while still upgrading team.
