Two players I'm tracking today, Steele and King.

Both have a reputation for getting sooky, Jack's sook up last week hopefully is not repeated and he shows the young guys what leadership looks like this week.

And I'm really looking to see King have a breakout game, if he can keep his toys in the cot then anything is possible. I'd like to see some real focus and aggression at the ball aerially and leading up. Split some packs even.

We need a top 4 pick way more than an instantly forgettable win vs West Coast in the same way North needed Harley Reid more than an instantly forgettable win vs Gold Coast.

This is a very winnable game but it will require playing some much cleaner footy and also upping our pressure considerably.

We need a top 4 pick way more than an instantly forgettable win vs West Coast in the same way North needed Harley Reid more than an instantly forgettable win vs Gold Coast.

Yeah, to me we have stuffed the season already. The worst thing we could do is go on a winning streak and stumble up to 9th spot while the other sides around us are all trying to drop down.

A painful season will be much easier to swallow if we get Jagga Smith.

The eagles are pretty good in the air down back so if we have the usual with lousy delivery and king refusing to lead then you won’t get much joy.

Someone reminded me last night that we needed a few results to go our way in the final round last year. We need to stop the hand wringing suck it up and look on the bright side which in this case should be a genuine gun mid. With some development and another good off season I’m pretty confident we’ll be in the hunt to play finals again next year.

Anyway I think we’ll win today but I’m more interested in how we play than the result. I’d love to see the mids improve and the forward line actually functioning. Better be on the lead not just bombing it in WC have a couple of very handy interceptors down back.

I’d love to see Windhager get the job on Reid and just for something really novel maybe make gaff earn a kick instead of running around on his own all day.

Well looks like the weather gods will be kind (or unkind, depends what we are looking for) today, gonna be a cracking day here in Perth, sun shining and 23 degrees. Rain looks likely from after the game. I honestly don't care if we lose today, I just wanna see the boys play some free flowing, high scoring football for once. I'd rather get beat 110-105, then win a dour 60-50 contests. Would love something to cheer about though, like max kicking 5 or 6. Or Owens taking mark of the year. Anyway, go saints!

Yes that is true but Winx is a 4DP and meant to be a marquee power forward of the competition so you'd think occasionally he'd out play the premier backman of the competition?

I can't think of the last game he played where you'd say he outplayed his opponents. He is just soooooo lucky he gets to blame the midfield for his lack of good performances.

Well, last time I was tempted to stay home n the couch, but decided to go.

Because Owens is not a midfielder it would be a great exercise in trying to make a midsized forward look ridiculous by playing him on a generational type midfielder like Reid...Reid would pick up 60 possessions on Owens in a full time midfield dual.
