Agreed. I lost the ability to speak for a moment. How can any umpire decide to blow the whistle in a tight clash in wet conditions when there was absolutely no illegal holding. It reeks of ego and wanting to be a part of the action. Moore was also crucified late in the third term with that alleged sliding and taking the legs away of the hawk forward. He got to the pill before his opponent appeared on the scene. The third shocker was the dangerous tackle against McCreery late in the last quarter. Are they trying to destroy this game?

The in danger against WHE was also ridiculous and then moments later are far more fitting dangerous kick by a Hawk players was ignored. The umpiring this year has been diabolical and influencing the outcome of too many games.
How can you apply such tiggy touchwood rules in today's conditions ? They weren't there in dry weather!

This is why umpiring is so difficult and why we are never happy with the umps- I would have paid both of those.

Lol. DeGoey had 3rd most metres gained for us, tied 2nd for inside 50s (with Pendles and Lipinski) and was 7th for us in AFL fantasy points. His clearances were down (2) and there was a few times he should have put his head over the ball and run through a ball in dispute a bit stronger but overall he was pretty good.
LOL he is a spectator of the lowest order.

Can't stand bludgers.

2019 Grundy which Leigh Matthews labelled arguably best in the comp

The dangerous tackle was absurd. Just because his head was near the ground doesn't mean there was any danger of him being concussed. He dragged him down from a height of around 45 cm without great effort. It was a pull down rather than a sling and the end result proves what I was saying. He didn't move a hair on his head. If you could happily swallow that same free 20 metres out in front of their goal then you have a very different perspective on the game. How about paying in danger as far as kicking or a dangerous tackle is involved when there is actually some danger to the wellbeing of the player?

The grundy discussion is an interesting one. Personally i wouldnt mind seeing him run around in the vfl for a week or 2. Would send a good message that we reward form over reputation, and i think grundy needs a bit of a challenge to get the best out of him. Forcing him to win back his spot may just reawaken mongrel grundy which i have missed dearly.
Rediscovering 'mongrel Grundy' would be great. Ironically, he seemed to be kind of stung into action after that knee knock in his last game.
Maybe a change of role is a real spark for him - whatever his salary is, he seems to have been a bit flat for a long time.
The ruck rover or inside mid would be interesting, but then you couldn't play all 3 rucks, could you?
How about leaving Cameron as first ruck & have Grundy blocking, tackling & bringing the ball to ground from the goal square, then releving Cameron for a burst?

I haven't watched them since, but with both of them watching them on tv, I thought "Shit!" before the free was paid. I thought they'd get pinged.

I think the same-not because it is worthy of a free but due to the endlessly absurd new interpretations this season. I hold my breath when a player shrugs his shoulders and shakes his head at the ump-not because it is something which should be penalized but because it will be in this insane era.

Yeah still up and down and Probably for a while yet

Better Afternoon/Evening then in Mornings.

Today was Great Though
Bless ya Dave. Not unlike footy it’s just something you have to do one week at a time. I lost my Mum in 2011 and it was pretty rough going for a long time but your friends help lift you up. Go Pies

Cameron has been great in clutch moments and puts himself in good positions for the release kick out of the backline when we need a target under pressure.
I’m really looking forward to Macrae, Bianco and Poulter developing along with the kids who are currently standing up and improving each week in the senior team.

In the last quarter the hawks knew they could tackle Ginni anyway they liked and not cop a free. They were going hard after him.

In the three head high tackles he received in the last quarter, one he dropped his shoulder, the other two were clear free kicks. The club needs to contact Dan Richardson this week, and find out why they aren't paying Ginnivan blatant free kicks.....

Apparently Fly has already initiated this - and not before bloody time - we have been far too gutless in this regard in years gone by.

I'm probably not as concerned about what the rules should be and more concerned about what they are and our boys playing within them and not giving away detrimental frees. Those were commonly paid frees under the current rulings.

Nick didn't get a single mention until his 35th disposal.

Seriously, is this a troll account? I've yet to see you post anything positive about Collingwood.
It's not my fault if you have no idea. Half the last quarter was a rising star chat. I posted in this threat "Daicos Best on ground". OMG so troll!

He is 100% playing for it though. It's the same as Selwood. We all hate when he does it. Others will hate when Gini does it. I think Ginivan is a star btw.

You cannot have separate rules for specific players. It seems like the umpires got together at half time and made an agreement never to pay Ginnivan a head high free kick again. That's corruption if that's the case. You cannot have a change of interpretation half way through a game.

seriously....can those calling for conspiracy stop!

just Stop!

They will correct it.
if the blatant calls happen next week, then we can discuss it.
but its boring, predictable and irrelevant to what happened today with the hawks.

And Blow the Cobwebs out so might not be a Bad Idea with him being out so long
