Reckon that commemorating our second longest captain who ended it the way he did is the best prep for a game? Not making excuses but it’s a bit odd.

Hunter Clark can play in the VFL for the rest of his career until he gets fit and actually shows some semblance of a defensive game. He’s got us all fooled with his flashy brilliance once every 5 games.

Definitely off the pace.

Too many passengers and poor footy tonight. Jones, Clark, Byrnes, Paton, Marshall (if injured shouldn't be playing). Been mostly the same thing for a while.

Ratts is too soft. Doesn’t have the hard edge of the likes of Clarkson and Dimma and that’s IMO what this side needs.

Ratten, unfortunately, not up to out. Cannot get the players up when required. No tactical nouse whatsoever. How is the delivery into our forward line...long bomb, no one down. Don't lower the eyes, don't lead. So glad we have not extended his contract. Won't take us to the promised land. With Clarko out there we have to throw the kitchen sink at him and reset this club.

I am a 40 year plus supporter and have seen every other side win a flag (new teams excluded). How long must we sing this song!?!

Most of the squad looked off which is concerning coming into this part of the season and against sub-par opposition. Hopefully we can respond.

Reminder that abusing players, staff, posters or anyone else is not OK.

Why do you guys wait until we are all so broken and then continuously harp on about this? Wouldn't it be a time to be more lenient when emotions are high and we are all hurting. It's clear the list don't give a stuff and the club has never given a stuff about us fans and we are here policing this stuff on a forum with a weird enjoyment doing it.

Lot of plodding around and standing complaining to umpires. Gresh got done HTB about 3 or 4 times zigging and zagging, but there were no options on. Our midfield got staunched tonight, the manlet brigade just gave us a pasting. Our setup at stoppages looked cooked, several times Essendon waltz out of our 50 with almost an entire side of the ground unmanned. I don't know if it's coaching messages not getting through, players not knowing their role or lack of communication as to who goes where but we looked shite tonight.

Windhager came on at half time as a medisub about 6 or 7 weeks ago and had played every game since, he was one who set the hard at the ball tone that night and has been strong in the middle since. Why he came out for a couple of soft body types in Clark, Billings and Naz, not shitting on them as players but we have no Steele and then we change the team to drop Owens (injury I know) and Windhager who offer a tall, solid build mid option. I dunno, just seemed like some weird changes, and seemed like our midfield got exposed.

Why leave windhager and Cooper out.

Hopefully we can see Owens, Windy, Sharman, Naz, Highmore, Byrnes, Connolly and Bytel play a fair chunk of the second half of this season because the senior group just does not have it

It's clear as day. We looked awesome when we took the game on early in the 3rd and looked garbage when we went back to chip bomb u12s stuff. Blind Freddy can see that.

Look at the best coaches in the sport over the journey and they've all had a bit of prick about them.

Ratts lacks that. I'm now certain we will never be a top 4 side under Ratten. Just can't get up for games we need to win.

We are a very slow side who don't spread for each other, too slow up front with little pressure, backline has to fix everyone else's issues. Forward line is lazy and dumb. No leads, no pressure and little cohesion. King is overrated and lazy but gets away with it because he's talented. Bags teammates but doesn't work hard. Marshall is not the player we hoped he would be.

Could tell about 2 minutes in they were not up for it. Not sure why we play in big games, we always seem to lose.

Yer I was Hunters biggest fan but he just doesn't go hard enough or have any desire. Give Windhager his spot.. At least he has a go.
